Well, it is really good to hear that the kids are lifting and getting ready for the upcoming season. Right now is where your games are won. Getting into the weight room and working your butt off for one common goal. SOC Championship. Then, playoffs...

they might be able to get in the playoffs at 7-3 but it depends on who they lose to..most likely they'll have to be 8-2 or better... and if they want to host a home game they are going to have to be 9-1 or 10-0

7-3 might be a stretch to make the playoffs. Minford might need to go around 8-2 or 9-1 to have a great chance at making the playoffs. The schedule this year will hurt them a little bit with playoff points but nonetheless, you still have to take care of buisness and win your games. Good luck and I will be rooting for you guys no matter what.

I'm sure Hockett did well, I would also figure that Boggs, Fitzgerald, Crabtree and Howard are getting pretty strong.

Does anyone know when the Lift-A-Thon is this year? That was a great fundraiser last year, contrary to popular belief in Minford, the football team pays for alot of their own stuff. The Boosters also do a great job of helping them get what they need. It is also a great time for the community to get involved and see what the kids have been working on since January. Hopefully this event does well this year and this develops into a tradition to help get the season started.

So, I don't know if anyone has heard of the problems that River Valley is having. But, they don't even have a coach yet, and there is talk about dropping football and getting soccer soon. The only reason I bring this up is because River Valley is the opening game on the schedule. I mean, if they drop football then we are going to have an open slot on the schedule. I wonder whats going to happen ?

It's getting late to try to schedule something, so someone needs to be on top of this to verify their intent, otherwise a replacement needs to be found ASAP.

I heard from some people at a track meet that they will have football next year, maybe some out of state young guy taking the head coach job. The Falcons need to take care of business in this one, wouldn't count on many playoff points from river valley though.

talked to one of the coaches , River Valley is having football, he said that he talked to one of the river valley asistants and that someone is just putting that stuff on the forum to get people started and it has worked, plus the lift-athon is the 22nd not the 29th

Yea, River Valley is going to give Minford a load of playoff points.

Not a great scheduling move on Minford's part, but hey....at the time of need a game is a game. It is better to play a weak program on that Friday night rather to wait for a better team to schedule and maybe miss out on playing that week altogether.

River Valley is NOT....I repeat NOT dropping football for soccer....that was a fantasy thread that was posted here on SEOPS, and has absolutely no merit to it. RV has a lot of there skill positions players back from last year, and will look to use the momentum from the season finale against Coal Grove last year as a building block into this 08 season. Hopefully a good game for us and you guys at Minford! Looking forward to coming to Minford!
