Your a classy poster Biggdowgg. I don't think these boys will be happy with this, if that is what you mean. They want to win them all. And if we get our QB back, we are capable of doing some things. Bricker did a great job tonight, but him at Wideout is another weapon to defend and then we can really stretch the field. West is good. Congrats to the Coaches on a great gameplan, they blizted right to the play most of the night. Good luck the rest of the year Portsmouth. Beat the Burg.

As an outsider, you have to be concerned for Myers. He is a player, and may be a great one before he is done. But they are putting such a big load on his shoulders as a soph. I hope they don't ruin him or get him hurt. Just a lot of responsibility for a kid. You could really see his comfidence drop as the game went on.

I know Clifford likes the spread. But IMO Portsmouth would be better playing a mix of under center and spread. Use Prior and Cadogen. Their basically useless in this offense. Put them on the same side and smashmouth some people. This team is not skilled enough to run this offense against the competition they play. Maybe it will help them next year and beyond, but this year could get ugly. Other teams are gonna blitz Portsmouth to death just like West did.

siderman

I wasnt saying this is the only thing the west boys will be happy with at all, Im sure their minds are on the big picture..winning enough games to get into the playoffs, and starting a run once they get there.....with what I seen tonight, they shouldnt have any problem doing both.

another thing, it was great to see a big crowd by both teams tonight, standing room only.

Portsmouth without a good o-line??? Curt will be on their butts for sure. Don't give up on them yet.

Come on Trojans get back in there and get your team ready for your next game! You still have alot of games left to win.

west totally dominated this game it amazes me how portsmouth has 2 future d1 players and they couldn't move the ball. codogan and prior are big and thats it they don't hustle and can't block they got blowed off the ball on both sides.

Something is going to have to change. I think Cadogan needs to go back to TE and let one of the younger kids get some time on the line. He's not going to be that much better a blocker than one of the Sophs and he would present a great check down target or add some power to overload one side. I also think we need to look at some other running back options also, we're getting blitzed because we are no threat to run the ball. As for the other side of the ball, they held South Point decently for a young squad and they played with West for 2.5 qtrs until they were wore down due to no offensive support at all. I'll say they could be adequate if they had a chance to catch their breath.

It's just so hard at times to run the ball out of the spread. Put Prior and Cadogan at Guard and tackle on the same side with Myers under center and plow down the field with the run. When the defense overloads, run the other way. That how I would try to do it if I had 2 studs like that.

It would be hard not to like the man. Nice guy and a hard worker. He puts in the time, especially in the weight room where he really knows his stuff. Just look at this team, physically beating teams to death. A real testimate to him and the kids for sure. I for one, am tickled to death to have him. Looking at the talent from the 6th grade up, its gonna be fun to be a West fan to watch what he does with these kids.

great points by siderman about p-town's O PS anyone else not like watching a game at the Rock ?-- The stands are so far back from the field you just can't get a good feel for whats going on. It's like 30- 40 feet wide for the players, then 30 feet of track , makes the 1st row of stands 30 yards or so from the field. Can't hear the pads cracking, can't walk the sidelines, can't access both endzones. The place looks great I just don't like the setup.

Congratulations to the Senators on a convincing win over our Trojans. Plain and simple........West dominated Portsmouth on both sides of the ball, and the end result was a 34-0 rout.

West showed that they are a playoff caliber team, while the Trojans have a lot of work to do to recover from this complete beatdown.

But I will be at Wheelersburg next week to cheer on the Red and Blue!!

GO TROJANS!!!

I want to congradulate West as well. This is one of the most complete butt kickings I can ever remember a Trojan team taking. I saw the Wheelersburg/South Point score and it made me wonder if the real Trojans stood up against South Point or West. West dominated, but the turnovers and penalties Portsmouth committed were very disheartening. If you've only seen one game or the other it would be hard to envision this being the same team in both games. I hope that we file the film in the archives, forget about this game, and move forward. If we don't this could be a long season, but I don't think we're this bad.

Congrats to West........definitely took us to the woodshed for a spanking........as I stated on another post, this has been an ongoing problem......since the 7th grade, Myers hasn't had much of a line........last night, he could have handed off to the defense instead of his backs....I give credit to West on their defensive scheme, but even when they didn't even blitz, it still looked like a "an all out jailbreak".........film doesn't lie......the cowardly and soft should be exposed and should be held accountable........West was the tougher team and wanted it more. Hopefully, this will be a lesson learned and we can regroup for the Burg on Friday.
