If anyone in the media covers the history of this rivalry, I hope they can include the pre-consolidation history, as this game actually represents 3 former rivals of the old Nelsonville Greyhounds. Three games is a quite a chunck from a schedule that back then frequently only included 9 total games. The Greyhounds and pre-consolidation Bulldogs were league rivals, but the Greyhounds had intense nonleague rivalries with The Plains Indians and Chauncey-Dover Blue Devils as well. The only two rivalries the Greyhounds had outside of the SEOAL were The Plains and Chauncey-Dover. I do not have scores prior to consolidation, unfortunately.

Likewise, the Buchtel York Bruins played The Plains and Chauncey-Dover annually as well.

I do know as fast as the NY defense is if they linebackers or anyone for that matter over run sharp and get behind him he will be gone... This is gonna be a very hard hitting game...

I was e-mailed this picture (located at the top of the TVC home page) today - it was very nicely done by some students I guess ... http://trivalleyconference.com/Home_Page.html

Thanks to the kids who put it together!

No matter who wins on Friday night, I'm sure all fans of both schools will unite to cheer on both schools throughout their playoff runs.

Yeah I'd guess you are right 96. If we are going to have to include nelsonville/Athens, might as well include all of em.

I'm done with this subject. Let's move on.

is there any chance of any additional seating being available for this Friday? I don't wanna get ahead of myself...but I'll go out on a limb and say that the place will be PACKED! And I know at the previous games they have been very strict about any standing room, or extra foot traffic in the end zones/on the track. It really would be a shame to not let as many people in as you can. Both of these teams deserve that great atmosphere.

Hopefully this game doesn't come down to a kicking contest again, we haven't done well in the kicking game since early in the season and haven't faired well the last few years in one point games (See Alexander 2010 and N-Y 2009 and 2010). Special teams and turnovers could easily be the difference in a game like this where the teams appear to be very evenly matched otherwise.

Poke fun if you want, but I do know Coach Adams on a first name basis and have talked with him and many other coaches all the way down to the youth program several times this season. I'm not trying to offend or upset anyone here and apologize if I have.

Its all good A-Town Big Dog ... Poeple don't realize come Friday - nothing else will matter except the players lined up across from one another.

BTW ... Ive been doing polls for quite awhile on SEOPS - and I have never seen anything close to 80 votes - that's pretty cool ... NY had been around 75% for most of the week, but that number in slowly coming down ...

Dogs can win most other titles in the TVC (by school size alone) but football is a different animal. Just remember Kline, Dean and Young on offense along with two names you'll here 20 times from the defensive side on the loud speakers friday night, Hook and Leitwein. This ain't gonna be close and people won't get their monies worth. After seeing both play more than once , I don't know if Athens can make an extra point or a field goal so N-Y won't have to worry about the kicking game and can bring the house on any 2-point conversions Athens tries. Too much hype for nothing as the Buckeyes are clearly the superior team IMO.
