Alright, some posters have asked to see the Power Poll (Point System) used to get these Rankings. I have no problem with that so I will put it below. Also keep it mind, this is a system that I myself did not create in anyway, as I searched and found a system used by someone else who had previously experimented with this. So this was my first attempt at this, and have talked with other posters about making adjustments to it for next season which I agree it does need some tweaking.

=The Power Poll (Point System)=
*10 POINTS – WIN
5 POINTS – ROAD WIN
2 POINTS – HOME WIN
-------------------------------
2 POINTS – PER 7 POINTS SCORED
1 POINT – PER (WINS) AN OPPONENT YOU DEFEATED EARNS (UPDATES DURING SEASON)
-------------------------------
*10 POINTS – SHUT-OUT THE OPPONENT
5 POINTS – HOLD A TEAM TO 7 POINTS OR LESS
4 POINTS – HOLD A TEAM TO 8-14 POINTS
3 POINTS – HOLD A TEAM TO 15-21 POINTS
2 POINTS – HOLD A TEAM TO 22-28 POINTS
1 POINT – WINNING BACK-TO-BACK GAMES
*-10 POINTS – FOR BEING SHUT-OUT (league opponent only) + NO POINTS EARNED FOR THAT WEEK
NO POINTS – SHUT-OUT -NON-LEAGUE OPPONENT
*Indicates Key Components of The System Teams Need To do Well In

=The ATHENS vs. NELSONVILLE-YORK Comparison=

ATHENS – Power Points (Week-by-Week)
WEEK ONE – 10+5+10+6 = 31
WEEK TWO – 10+5+12+5+1 = 29
WEEK THREE -10+2+10+1+4+1=28
WEEK FOUR -10+2+16+1+3+1=31
WEEK FIVE -10+5+12+10+1=38
WEEK SIX – 10+2+8+5+1=26
WEEK SEVEN-10+5+6+10+1=32
WEEK EIGHT-2+4=6
Power Points Earned Via WiNs from Opponent Defeated = 17
VS. OPPONENT COMBINED RECORD (24-40)
TOTAL – 216+(17 OpWins) = 233
[Galia 1-7][Fed 1-7][Bloom 2-6][Meigs 3-5][VC 1-7][Alex 6-2][Wellston 3-5][NY 7-1]

NELSONVILLE-YORK - Power Points (Week-by-Week)
WEEK ONE – 10+5+2+5 = 20
WEEK TWO – 10+2+6+5 = 22
WEEK THREE-10+2+6+3+1=22
WEEK FOUR- 10+2+10+5+1=28
WEEK FIVE – 10+5+8+3+1=27
WEEK SIX -10+5+14+5+1=35
WEEK SEVEN- (SHUT-OUT) (-10)
WEEK EIGHT-10+5+4+4=23
Power Points Earned Via WiNs from Opponent Defeated = 24
VS. OPPONENT COMBINED RECORD (30-24)
TOTAL – 167+(24 OpWins) = 191
[Trimble 4-4][Piketon 5-3][BU 2-6][Wellston 3-5][Meigs 3-5][Belpre 0-8][Alexander 6-2][Athens 7-1]

So, there are all the Numbers that have been factored in.
What Stands out is this...
Athens Defense has (Shut-Out) 3 Opponents
NY's (Shut-Out) Loss to Alexander has cost them

There you go...That has been the system used for 8 Weeks Now...
Yes it is not perfect, but I'll be open to suggestion to improve it next year (mind you this was the 1st time I tried something like this)...

Now, we have 2 weeks left...Let's see how this plays out...
GOOD LUCK TO ALL TVC TEAMS!!!!

Also, Dilligaf
Do I Look Like I Give A ______! (Fill in the Blank)(I'll go with "Hoot!")

I assume that I have more knowledge of Football than your tiny, uneducated brain as a direct result of your useless banter and mostly negative comments.

Have you played this game? Organized?
Have you had a College Program Scout you?
Have you any Coaching Experience?
Do you really understand Football?
(See, I asked you questions in a nice way and my vision is quite fine as well!)

I'd put my Football Pedigree up against your Mindless Insults and Empty thoughts as your comments never seem to add anything to any topic...

Also, O & B thanks again for tryin' to cool off yet another person throwin' a hissy fit over something I have explained to him (over & over) again that this has no official baring on any football games actually being played. I guess this is why people do not try to do anything nice anymore as I have no kids on any program, I do not currently Coach any team. And I never even played in the TVC. I simply decided I wanted to try my hand at something so people could follow the League, keep up with the teams and something that could try to add a little something (not like Joe Eitel's Ranking) but something you'd see on ESPN or FoxSports in terms of their Power Rankings.

For those of you enjoying this, keep on reading and posting for 2 more weeks...
For those of you who seem to have an issue, My apologies. You can't please everyone I guess.

Again, Good Luck to ALL TVC TEAMS...
...especially to NY this week as you battle the Big Bad SEOAL's Ironton. Get that respect Friday Night...

Now, class can we get back to the Topic...
Will Athens/Trimble get their shares of the Championship Pie this week!
Can NY get some respect for the TVC vs the SEOAL...
Can Alexander battle back after suffering their 2nd loss to make a run at the 8th spot in the play-off rankings...
Who will be Eliminated from the Championship Conversation after Friday Night?

=THIS WEEK IN THE TVC=
#1 Athens Bulldogs vs. UnRanked Belpre Golden Eagles
#2 Nelsonville-York Buckeyes vs. (NoN-League) Ironton Tigers
#3 Alexander Spartans vs. UnRanked Vinton County Vikings
#4 Trimble Tomcats vs. #5 Southern Tornadoes
#6 Eastern Eagles vs. #9 Waterford Wildcats
#7 Meigs Mauraders vs. #8 Wellston Golden Rockets
#10 Miller Falcons vs. UnRanked Federal Hocking Lancers

[ATH/BEL]
Athens can get a share of the TVC-Ohio Crown and can eliminate everyone else from the Ohio except NY, who would have to win in Week 10 to grab their share of the Crown. Belpre, winless can play spoiler. They need something positive to come from this game...

[NY/IRO]
NY gets a late season non-leaguer, however it is against a foe as strong Ironton. NY is looking for some respect, and some good Play-off points as Ironton is looking to put their coach into the record books...

[ALX/VC]
Alex still has a chance to make the play-offs as they only sit one spot out right now. Vinton County gets a chance to eliminate Alexander from the running for the Ohio Crown, and most likely the play-offs...

[TRI/SOU]
Trimble can win the TVC Hocking Crown outright with a win over Southern. Southern can move into a tie with Trimble with a victory...

[EAS/WAT]
The Eagles and Wildcats both still mathematically in the running for the Hocking Crown and Play-Offs. The loser of the contest, most likely will be eliminated from both...

[MEI/WEL]
The Mauraders and Golden Rockets both out of the running for the play-offs. However, a slim chance still sits that one of them could grab a share of the Ohio Crown. The Loser is eliminated...

[MIL/FED]
Miller still alive in the Hocking Crown, barely but there is still the fighters chance. Federal Hocking out of both runnings finds themselves playing spoiler once again...

:12222 :12222 I must say ol chap that I failed to realize your great "football pedigree" and at this time I shall insist that my butler Benson be sent to your estate bearing my most humble appology.

"NY looked to have wasted the turnover but a shaky pass interference call gave them new life. The Buckeyes took it and went on to score and pull within 6"

Your words not mine.

Please define the term "shaky" and explain how this could be taken as unbiased.

That's all that I am saying, this poll IS most definately BIASED......

I believe this poll should be renamed "The TVC Biased My Opinion Power Poll".

No but seriously, as you chat with Benson, please ask him to explain the Big Fish Small Pond Theory as I think you may gain some most valuable insight.

you got your booty kicked by alexander. shut up you dont deserve to be #1. you won a game by an extra point against an opponent that played much worse than they usually do, and you wouldn'tve even had that without a couple of shaky calls that kept drives going. stop complaining and focus on ironton

I never said that the comments had to be unbiased.
I simply stated the fact that when it came to determining the order of the teams, it all came down to the numbers, not the names...numbers keep it unbiased while using names and the who-beat-who only calls for trouble bias...

The 'Shaky' Pass Interference call refers to an Athens LB hitting a NY player when the ball had already passed him by and would by rule be declared 'Uncatchable'. However, the flag-happy referees didn't see it that way and were quick to toss their hanky's onto the turf as they did pretty much all night. With that being said, that did not lose the game for Athens or Win the game for NY. NY's second half game plan crushed Athens and their Time of Possession didn't allow the Athens Offense many shots on the field or to get into any rhythm...

Also, this Poll is just a Poll. Never said this Poll would be so confusing (See:BCS) that the average Joe could not understand it.

But in all Honesty, Dilligaf have you played Football? Do you truly understand how the game works. It is a simple question, that a simple yes or no can answer. You have a 50/50 chance here, Yes or No. If so, I'd like to hear about. Tell me some of your football stories and I'd love to share with you mine as well. "I once caught a Field Goal and returned it 75 yards for the Game Winning TD vs. Point Pleasant back in 2002." I'll try to get that video on here so you can view it. What about yourself?

No reason we all cannot be civil about this.
Also, to give you a little insight about myself. My father was a Buckeye and my Mother was a Tomcat. I have roots running all through SEOhio, myself and my 3 brothers all played at Athens. What about yourself Dilligaf? Where are you from, where did/do you play? While we are at it NYBux jump it to. I assume maybe you might have been/be a Buckeye...

...and since we are having fun with this. (Pedigree: distinguished, excellent, or pure ancestry, line of descent; lineage)
Hope you both have a good day and Good luck to All TVC Teams come Friday!

NYBux- my friend the issue is already being takin' care of.

We already have added Warren (DII) and I believe Parkersburg South...
I believe they have replaced Federal Hocking (D5) & Bloom Caroll (D4)...
People tend to forget that finding opponents can be hard especially when entering a new league...

Also, Belpre's exits gives us another opening to add another game...

This is one year, we played a schedule we thought would be tougher than it was (non-league) that is...
Gallia had an off year, Fed and Bloom as well...Wahama is our only non-league opponent with a winning record...
Sometimes, that's just the way the cookie crumbles...

We have one more year that we will have to play at (DII) before we will drop down to (DIII)...
We knew that coming into the TVC we would be forced to play some smaller schools (NY/Wellston/Meigs), but after next year, it is possible that Athens, VInton County and Alexander will all be (DIII), Wellston & Meigs (DIV) and NY (DV)... I for one hope this comes to fruition so that people will stop using the bigger division card.
