What have you got to show for all of those 10-0 seasons? Nothing. Has Logan even played in a State Championship game in any sport and when I say that I mean the big three in football, basketball and baseball. Hell, there are three of the riverrat teams down here that have played in a state title game in football in Ironton, Wheelersburg and Portsmouth West. How many has Logan been in again, I think I missed it somewhere. It doesn't matter what you do in the regular season, all that matters is those 5 games after the regular season. Win all of those and then you'll gain a little respect from the river teams.

Let's see, we're ALLfull of crap, we have no class and you throw in a curse word to boot. Yep, we got a long way to go to measure up to your level of class. Look, I don't have a problem with Ironton or the vast majority of their posters. A great program and a proud tradition-congratulations. I certainly don't have a problem with any of the other teams on the river. How is it you can use them to beat Logan over the head. I'm a fan of Logan and all I say is this current team is one of the best that they have ever produced. I'd say it ranks right up there with ANY of the other teams from any single year from SE Ohio regardless of where they finish postseason. And I enjoy watching them play every time they take the field. And I reserve the right to be proud of them. I don't need any validation from Ironton or any other program. Good luck to Ironton Friday night and in the future. I hope you have post-season success and win a state title. I'd just like to see someone from there say the same for Logan.

If you read my post you would see that I said a FEW. I need to then change that to "They are full of crap" and I think everyone knows who I am talking about. Shoot, they got so bad on the IRONTON-ASHLAND thread that it had to be removed because of all the crap they were slinging on there.

I have a ton of resepct for all of the Southeastern Ohio teams because no one else in the state does, but if you are going to talk the talk then walk the walk and go out and prove to everyone just how good you are by bringing home the hardware at the end of the season.

Good luck to both teams and here is to an injury free game and may the best team win. I know that a pretty good Logan team came down a few years ago to the Tank and squeaked out a 7-0 win.

What does that have to do with anything?

Logan has dominated the all-time series with Nelsonville/Nelsonville-York, but that didn't make any difference in 1992, '94, '96, and '97 when Nelsonville beat Logan. We congratulated Nelsonville.

Unlike Ironton who just says "Oh yea, well we own the all-time series, so there" - how arrogant.

Ya know Locos..I also thought Ironton was gonna leave the SEOAL b/c they couldn't win it like they thought..but now..you think maybe they are leaving it so they don't have to play Logan and let the Chiefs catch up and start leading that all time series? LOL 'Cause if that happens..they'd have NOTHING else to say!

I agree we tend to focus on the past and we should be focused on how to improve the football program in the future.

After Bob leaves it will be a diffcult time for the Ironton Fans but I hope they can look at the future and quit talking about the past. We should learn from the past and look forward to the future.

That is what would be best for the town and the kids as a whole!!!

Even I'll admit to containing my share of crap sometimes-just ask my wife!  I'd like nothing better than to see Logan bring home the hardware. It's not easy, especially when we had to compete against D1 competition for years. Run off the names of a couple of teams in that division you think very many teams at all would bring the hardware home against. it will not be any easier in DII. I give you guys your dues;you have done it but twice in how many years? It's not like your Moeller and St. Iggy or for that fact, Coldwater and St. Henry. Great accomplishment. Now, when do you see your next trophy coming? Not for a long time if you keep playing smashmouth football. That is in the grave with Woody, may God rest his soul. Your going to see the present and future of HS football Friday night. Yeah, that was a "pretty good" team that came down there a few years ago. But wait 'til you get a look at what's coming this Friday.

GoChefs, you are struggling pal.

The best you can come up with is the Chefs..yet..I'M struggling???? And your correct..Lancaster has dominated the series..but guess what..UNLIKE Ironton..Lancaster realizes that past doesn't mean ANYTHING..they realize they got beat this year..and they congratulate the Chiefs and move on..they don't talk about how 'yeah..you won..but we still beat you in 1953.' Cause the Gales realize that doesn't matter! And yes..Ashland may be the size of Logan..but guess what...it's still Kentucky football..so..just like the Tigers have lately against the Chiefs...your struggling! :122249

The past only means "nothing" when you dont have a past.

Read em all Locos, not just pick and choose. I was responding to your cousin, GoChefs.

As for owning the alltime series with a school 3 divisions lower than you, congratulations.

8 finals. you may be right about the next one. We may never get back to the dance. However, better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all.

If by present you mean today, we are 3-1. Ill take that. Currently in position for yet another post season berth. Post season is what Ironton is about. You seem confused by the past. We are current. We play for the post season. Ive been going to Stark County for 13 consecutive years. I have never head anyone ask another, did you win your league title?

Of course..the past is the only thing you hold on to when the present and future is bleak as well. Don't worry...this will be the last year you have to worry about getting pounded by the Chiefs.

I agree. When Coach Lutz leaves, it will be a tough transition. However, when that time comes, Ironton needs to embrace it's past and make sure it is geared for future success. I agree with your statement. The posts on here seem to think Ironton is putting up 2-8 and 3-7 seasons here. Just because we are proud (as i am sure you are too) of the past, doesnt mean we dont want to win now. Ironton is 3-1 this season. Again, there are 10 games in the regular season. They dont ask how many did you win to get into the post season. Its not just number of wins. ironton will go to the post season again. Ironton has done that every year but like 3 or 4 since 1973. Sounds like the present isnt too shabby.

Well it is shabby when all you want to do is toot your horn about what you've done in the past. I guess you just can't get it done in the present can you?

i haved to agree with dazed and confused, i am from ironton and now live in the canton area. people in this area don t believe any one south of columbus can play football, i hear all the time. i support our area every time someone makes it and not just in football. i do understand how logan feels. we need to stop the whining and support each other. i am not a logan fan but i do hope you can win outright ( except this week ) some of us ironton fans do respect you. win or lose this week take care of your region and good luck
