This thread is about the upcoming meigs/NY game! It's not about how we are going to lose to Ironton or how no one in Ohio respects us. I don't really think any one really cares about the AP poll and we don't really care if any one respects us or not! You seem to be the only person who has a problem with Nelsonville-York! Your right we haven't made it past week 11 for a long time and we haven't won a state title in almost 30 years. The TVC isn't as good as some other leagues in the state of Ohio, but it's our league and we are proud to be in it. I am really really sorry that our boys aren't good enough for you. They work hard all year round and bust there butts on Friday nights!! That is what we care about. We are not Ironton or any other school in the state. We are Nelsonville-York!!!!!!. Our kids play football because they love the game not because they feel like they need to go out and earn respect from the rest of the state. No matter what you or any one else thinks we will still go out and support our team. Our boys will go out and give there all on friday nights.
Now can we get back to the meigs game already??????????

Sure can, Ok, Bolin is out so that's a big loss. Meigs has been very porous on defense this year but do have what I consider the best "passer" in the league this year in Jacob Well and along with Mr. Smith should be able to score some points. I here N-Y started out with a very young set of lineman this year and apparently they are getting better each week. Everyone knows about Mr. Arnold so enough said there. IMO, playing at Bob Roberts Field gives a couple points to Meigs so I'll make this prediction. N-Y 28 MEIGS 17. :-D

(My prediction was just a hair off) Final: N-Y 28 - Meigs 20

This site has an update and final score thread.

NY won 28-20. According to the transitive property, which works every time in football, NY has no chance against Athens in week 8. None whatsoever. ;-)

You are correct, NONE :)

nelsonville played an excellent game but then so did meigs. i don't believe anyone really wanted this game to end. the kids on both sides left it on the field it is just too bad meigs lost. this is the team we all expected. very proud that my son is on the meigs team.

Don't really think the Nelsonville faithful should complain too much about officiating after what Meigs has endured the last 2 years at Buchtel.

Lets focus on what happened tonight these young men (from both teams) played their hearts out and provided us with an exciting night of football. The what ifs and shoulda couldas will always be there but it's in the books now. Let it go and move on to week 6.

IM NOT SAYING WE WILL HANDLE YOU, BUT GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE BEATABLE, WITH SEVERAL GAMES WHERE YOUR DEFENSE IS SUSPECT... AFTER A HARD FOUGHT LOSS TO LOGAN, WHERE WE HAD THEM UNTIL THE SECOND HALF, I HOPE WE CAN BEAT YOU AND COLLECT POINTS TO GET INTO THE PLAYOFFS.. WE STILL HAVE 3 TEAMS TO PLAY THAT ARE UNDEFEATED...GOOD LUCK TO YOU AS WELL... WE WANT ALL SOUTHEASTEN OHIO TEAMS IN THE PLAYOFF PICTURE...

Does anyone have any idea what tjhtygeverve's post means?

Also, FANOSPORTS...why is NY's week 10 game listed as a forfeit?

Believe he is an Ironton fan talking to NY people.

As for the forfeit, no idea. Is VC short on players? Are they dropping like flies?

Answer: Vinton County, 0 wins - 5 losses (They are avg. 6.8 ppg and allowing 37.2 ppg). Although they could conceivably have a win over Belpre by then, N-Y will roll in week 10.

Sounds like a "dynasty" to me. Doesn't it get tiring though, beating the same schools year in and year out within a little ole conference with a 40 mile radius ?. I guess it doesn't but then getting beat by someone from another area that may play a little more physical or quicker in the playoffs doesn't get old for them either.

OMG!!!!
Enough already. We get it NY is a terrible team. NY has no business showing up for any game scheduled. NY should be ashamed of being a member of the TVC. NY has the most over zealous fans for a mediocre team and program. NY needs to move its entire school and population to a real part of the state to play football. NY has no chance against Athens.

Just so you know, I am now a believer of all that you have written on a high school football forum and am going to present a proclomation to the NY BOE and suggest that the school be shut down, transfer the kids to ABH High School (Anywhere but Here).

So I hope you are happy, I used to love this place but since you've been ranting on about a high school and it's program, I can no longer support said program. If only you'd tell us what school you support like you've told us about those nifty overseas investments, I would know where to suggest those kids transfer to. So which school is it FANOSPORTS? I am curious why you wont tell us.
