There defense is still lightning fast as well..I'd even go as far as to say they could be faster than last years defense. Hunter Potts in a beast..and Poyser as well..probably the best players on the team without Swigert. Toby Minister has filled in nicely with the absence of #2. A lot of people counted L'Ville out as soon as #2 got hurt..but..they proved them wrong and still finished 10-0. There offense still isn't up there though IMO. If someone can score a lot of points on the defense..the Leps will be in trouble. There last 3 games..the offense came out of the gate slow and struggled. I mean..they were losing at halftime in a couple if not all 3 of the games if memory serves me correctly. But they were able to make the adjustments at the half and come out and pull out the wins. I think not having Swigert will play with their heads just a bit in the postseason..but they are still a great ball team. They will definitely be tested this week against Marion Franklin.

Louisville is a better D team this year than last. Much of their D is based on gap assignment responsibility. Saw the North Canton Hoover game where they shut down RB Howard. NCH tied to run from off-tackle to tackle, an inside game, and the Leps stuffed them. I'd game plan to go outside and pass ALOT on them. I'd be looking to use overload formations and try to get a match up of LB on a slot receiver & throw Out patterns to them. If they have no "spy" on the QB, I'd tell him to pull it down and run some. And for them, after looking at film , I'd have a new play or two to use against the weaknesses in their D with maybe a new wrinkle in formation.

Logan should match up well with the Leps O. Louisville is good. Logan is a better team than last year. Cut down on errors & it should be an interesting game. IF YOU BOTH GET THERE.

Well..they've done that the last 3 years! I think they held "Mr. Football" to under 200 yards combined in all 3 games he played against Louisville? They've had his number.

The Leps just filled the gaps and Howard had nowhere to run. NCH was dumb for not trying to get outside. And they had a poor pass game, which considering the past history of Hoover, is a cardinal sin.

All of you posters had better stop thinking ahead! Canal has the ability to be a pain in the side of the Chiefs. This will be a very close game, Canal is a very well rounded team with very good speed and some very good skilled players. If the Chiefs are able to get ahead quickly then it will be a 2-3 TD victory, but let Canal hang around then the Chiefs could have some trouble!

Schein,
If all Canal had to worry about were us posters, I'm sure they would be making plans for next week. However, not you nor I nor most of the posters on here will diagram a play or take a snap tonight. Relax, I can assure you the players aren't taking this game lightly. I don't know what the final score will be and I'm not into predicting escapes or beatdowns. I only know what I have seen from this team and this group of kids and I don't feel nervous at all about tonight. Will it go according to script? Depends on who is writing that script. I'll say only that I think Logan prevails and moves on and that's all we can expect right now.

Dazed, I know the team is very focused on the task a hand that being said Canal is also very focused to! Belivie it or not I am very close to at least 2 members of the starting units and they know that Canal is a very good team! A fast start would be great but like I said this will be a tight ball game. I also expect them to to win.

Weather figures to be good tonight. Low 40s at kickoff, dropping to the 37 when the final horn blows. 0% precipitation, and light winds out of the southeast. Should add up to a big night for the Logan offense.

I know I'll be keeping my eye on how teams can get pressure on the quarterback. Logan should come in poised to go up early, so Canal will be relegated to putting the ball up a little more frequently then they would otherwise like to. Canal won't have to throw as early and as often if they can get the running game going, so the chiefs need to play tough, if they can keep runs over five yards to minimum, the Canal running attack will be quickly stiffled.

Not sure what canal has going in the turnover margin, but the Chiefs aren't going to give the ball up, so they better be at their best.

Coach Wolfe needs to pull some gimmicks out of his hat, keep Canal guessing, and keep next weeks likely opponent wondering. The Chiefs have gotta get the running game going full blow in November, you never know what the weather can do, and the faster teams will jump those routes if your putting the ball up anymore than 25 or 30 times a game.

Logan 35-14.

The hardest thing against keeping them focused is now the phone is ringing at home. Seems some college coaches out there are catching on to the fact there are some decent athletes playing for Logan. Finally!

I talked to one of our boys on Saturday, and asked what he thought of the upcoming game. He said "Why, who do we play?" It turns out coach Amyx told them not to look at the internet or anything. That he would tell them who they played on Monday. That's the way it should be. We can look down the road, because we're just spectators, but as long as the kids and coaches are focused on Canal Winchester, the focus is where it should be.

I knew I could depend on my main-man Logangrad to to keep me "in the know" :!:

Just like old times, I get off topic, and he directs me where I need to be

I'm really excited about this years edition of the Logan Chieftains. Hopefully they can make a deep run into the playoffs. I won't get to see them tonight because I will be in Columbus watching Watterson, but I will be thinking about Mr. Angle and the rest of the "Purple Army".

Good luck tonight :!: :!: :!:

Hey I'm with you!!!!!! I really miss doing the games on Friday Nights (especially with you because that was always a blast). Plus don't forget the food!!!!!!!!!

P is doing great. Had an incredible season and really loved every minute of it (thanks for asking).

So how deep do you see the Color Purple going this year? I would love to see them win the region (and I think that is very much a possibility).

Thanks for the run-down.

I think that Logan got some very good experience last year and I am sure that they want even more this year. They were literally one play away last year and if not for a very uncharacteristic INT at the goalline, they might have won that game.

I know this is "THE" class that everyone has talked about for years and now they are Seniors. The time is "NOW"!!!!

Good luck and let me know how the weekend goes ;-)

4 Horse are you and LG going to do that new radio post game show they are raving about over on the basketball forum? If so, can I help? LG is running away with the votes in the poll. I have been told he will ask you to help. Hopefully you can get me in. I especially like the wine tasting idea for the show. Although I do have a heck of a crochet hook my grandma use to use.
