This has been a close hard fought game for the last three years. I don't see anything changing this year. Burg has a proud well earned tradition and this years Burg team will play hard to uphold it. Having said this, I like Minford in this game this year.

This site is getting ridiculous, well some of the posters I should say. This is the way I see it, Minford who is ranked in the state polls, and a very talented squad, are going to Wheelersburg to take on and underacheiving group of Pirates (so far) who would love to turn their season around by beating Minford and getting alot of those points. And let I remind you guys of what a dog fight this game has been the last few years, anyone who says that Minford hasnt caught up with Burg talent wise and wins wise can kiss my hind parts!!! This is a great rivalry that should be enjoyed, and I wish the best of health to both teams.

I agree....well almost. To say that the Burg team this year has "underachieved" is kinda crazy. They lost to a VERY good Ironton team 12-7 and lost by 7 at Oak Hill, with Slone at 100%. Yes....their record is 3-2, but to say they are not achieving anything is not very fair to the kids.

GO PIRATES!!

dont you have a thread to be on? my hope is we meet you again in the playoffs and spank you again but this time with no excuses. OAK HILL LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get over it and be happy you will be 9-1 unless you choke against Symmes Valley. If you were in SOC II you would get beat at least 2 more times. Enjoy this year because next year you wont win anything anything outside of SOC I.

I'm saying Burg by 2 two scores, at least. Minford is not that good. You beat Meigs who is down, beat Piketon who isn't the best team in the world but, they're not bad. You also beat an improved Wellston team and an Oak Hill team who just went through two very solid teams in Wellston and Burg out of the last three weeks. Minford fans will cry, whine and shout travesties when they lose this week and when they lose to Weat. Btw, you'll also be out after the first round of the playoffs. You're not that good Minford, just playing teams at the right time.

BLAH BLAH BLAH! DRINK SOME MORE HATERADE JASON! CAUSE NOBODY REALLY GIVES A RATTS BEHIND WHAT YOU THINK!

PIKETON WAS TERRIBLE.....WE DEMOLISHED THEM.
MEIGS WAS HORRIBLE......WE DEMOLISHED THEM.
WELLSTON WAS OK......WE DEMOLISHED THEM.....THANK THE REFS FOR KEEPING IT CLOSE. THEY PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEAT OAK HILL IF THEY WERE 100%
OAK HILL WAS OK....OVERRATED......WE WON THE BATTLE OF LINE OF SCRIMMAGE ALL NIGHT.

BURG IS NOT THAT GOOD. THEY HAVE ONE GOOD PLAYER. THEY WILL GET HANDLED FRIDAY NIGHT. YOU SHOULD COME WATCH A REAL FOOTBALL TEAM.

AND IS NOT "WEAT", ITS "WEST".....IDIOT.

At least I don't have to meet in you in person and realize you're a 12 year old.

What is the overall series record between the two? Not trying to start a fight, just asking.

^ In the past 10 years, it's Wheelersburg 8 Minford 4, that's including 2 first round playoff games. Also, the past 4 meetings were decided by a TD or less. In the histroy, it's something like Wheelersburg 45 Minford 6, and that's like how the scores were before the 2000 era.

This game will be a classic battle like the last three. I don't think the burg has the weapons that Minford does. Shank does it all for the burg: pass, runs, kick-offs, punt returns and receives too. Stop him and force the others to beat you. Minford has too many weapons this year. With that said, this game will come down to field position, turnovers and penalties. Minford can't turn the ball over inside their own 30. If they kick or punt the ball to Shank and he returns it 60 yards there again, they get a short field to work with. This is what bit Minford in the past. Also, Minford can't rip off an 80 yard play only to have it brought back on a yellow flag. If these big three keys to the game come into play against Minford it could come down to a field goal. If Minford keeps the ball out of Shank's hands, holds on to the ball and cuts out the penalties- Minford wins by 14.

Just curious and i know this is off topic but if oak hill wins out as 9-1. With the play of the weak schedule will they even be able to make it into the playoffs? i know there ranked 11th now but I just don't see where they're going to get there points from besides burg and wellston.

Yes I believe Oak Hill will make it at 9-1. Why don't we discuss the Oaks on the Oak Hill thread.
On topic, I think Burg will win this one! Minford got a little bit of a big head after last week.
