Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
we should have an amazing deep back field this year.
Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
All I know is, burg Smashed Ironton 2 times last season... palladino did nothing in either game... so unless he found a unicorn that gave him some good luck, I'm sure he won't impress anyone come week one.. no on a serious note, Desmond young is a tough back that I think will have some success. That is if the Tigers can get in shape...

That's what I thought.
Too bad I missed out on EZ money!

I thought he was faster than that last year. Maybe the extra weight/muscle has slowed him down a bit.C-Bolt wrote:This says he runs a 4.97 40, that is slow for a D1 recruit skill player. Is that a misprint? He look faster then that on video.

Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
Yea, I would have thought he was around 4.6 or so last year but then again one of the fastest RB's I can remember at Ironton was Jermon Jackson and he only clocked a 4.6 40 his Freshman year at Ohio State. I'm still surprised at a 4.97 though.4th n Goal wrote:I thought he was faster than that last year. he had right at 1500 yards Rushing last year.
Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
He was quicker last season but put on a lot of muscle during the winter. After he put on the muscle he was told they were wanting speed moreso than muscle. I have been told. He was up to almost 235 when he ran the 4.97. He was <220 last I heard. He was hoping to be 210 by season. I believe he will be hard to handle along with young and barker along with a long list of good backs on this tiger team. Irontons line will be much improved as they are much stronger and faster. That in itself will help these talented backs along with giving our very talented quarterback plenty of time that Cox didn't get the luxury to have last year. Watching past years games from the 90s, this is as close as it gets in southern ohio skill wise. It's all how these kids react from the first snap.
Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
I will too gladly take that bet on the 400 lb. He must be busy dialing gamblers anonymous.
Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
the track forum has him running a 12.1 100m in the spring.C-Bolt wrote:This says he runs a 4.97 40, that is slow for a D1 recruit skill player. Is that a misprint? He look faster then that on video.

I am not sure why you said you would take that bet "too"....Cannon clearly backed away from it.
Whenever, wherever. I will have someone hold the money. 400lb bench press and then run a 10 minute mile. You just tell me when and where.

Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
personally I think 220/225 is a perfect weight for palladino. excited to see dez young this year as well.
Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
I saw him run in track this past season and he has average speed. Came in fourth I think in the 100 and the times posted that day were slow.
Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
I agree I think he has average speed but there is a difference between track speed and football speed. I have seen many players run the 40 dash in 5.0 but when they were in their football gear they could run away from the other team. But I do think if he is 225 that could be too much of a weight gain in one year.
Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
If you look back I said initially somewhere in the proximity and he clearly said he ran now between 12-13 minutes. I told you I would take the bet on him benching 400 pounds as you initially laughed at the thought that he could bench 300.Badboy wrote:IBTT wrote:I will too gladly take that bet on the 400 lb. Depends on his goal.OSU 77 wrote:I agree I think he has average speed but there is a difference between track speed and football speed. His lateral quickness makes him a good back. He could be tougher.

Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
I'm with OSU 77 on this. Palladino ought to be playing at no more than 190-195 pounds. You almost have to be a physical freak like Ezekial Elliott to try to run halfback at 225, and Palladino ain't that.
High school games are won these days by teams that have the most well-conditioned athletes between 175 and 225 pounds. Stack 2-3 big tackles with a whole bunch of those sized kids and you'll do just fine in D-V.
Look at State Champs Coldwater last year. They won the ring with a 62-21 trouncing of Canton Central Catholic. Coldwater's roster had 32 guys between 175 and 225 pounds, and only 3 kids bigger than 240. Times have changed, and that is what a championship team looks like nowadays. And while it hurts me to say it, Wheelersburg looks a lot more like that than Ironton does.

I'm good for 100.00 with badboy....400lb benchpress (how many reps) and immediately run a 10 minute mile.... :122245Badboy wrote:IBTT wrote:I will too gladly take that bet on the 400 lb. He must be busy dialing gamblers anonymous.

Re: WHEELERSBURG @IRONTON.WEEK 1 -YOUR THOUGHTS.
I'M IN DIS-AGREEMENT SOME ABOUT THE PALLADINO WEIGHT.
you don't have to always be the small cagey back. somewhere these guys like zeke have to come out of high school. I'm not making that COMPARISON BUT. I think 220 would be a great weight, and he is very elusive. a good stiff arm and an aggressive style would serve him well. and may even translate to a college career.
we'll just have to see.

I'll give him 12 minutes in the mile too.......not that I think we will get that far in the bet.FIDO (Forget It Drive On) wrote:I'm good for 100.00 with badboy....400lb benchpress (how many reps) and immediately run a 10 minute mile.... :122245Badboy wrote:IBTT wrote:I will too gladly take that bet on the 400 lb. I don't know about 12 min mile...I can do that fairly easy at 52. :122245Badboy wrote:
