Ironton battled for sure I think that 2 point conversion play was there but the QB needed to make the decision much much faster he allowed the defender to react. Heck of a ball game and will only help down the line.
Agree…

BUT…

I think coach P liked what he saw in game 6. He knows what they are capable of & did NOT WANT TO GO INTO A SLOBBER KNOCKER OT JUST FOR a “W” & risk injury for points & rankings that do not matter, the production coach & fans saw does.

Prepped for rest of schedule & playoff run

Edwards is dinged.
Terry needs TLC & some pizza.

Thanks GREEN HS FOR HAVING THIS GAME!

Awesome game!
& ALL WILL BE DINGED SOMEWHERE FROM THE SIZE OF C NORTH. Massive lines.

I even had my neighbor come over to see their size & he said : “ YOU IRINTON PEOPLE ARE NUTS-Those are DaBears our there!!! Lol!!!
Oh yeah it was the right call to go for 2 as Clarkson was bringing it in the trenches, not for sure what I was more impressed the size of the D2 college line or the backup QB coming in and throwing a dime for a 63 yard TD pass to take the lead on 3rd down.
Back up QB was incredible. They had players everywhere.

The largest private high school in Canada that gets players from all over the country that want to play US rule FB @ the next level IN D1 & D2 & get COLLEGE FB scholarship offers consistently!!!

Great job by both squads!!!

Didn’t expect Clarkson to have a big line but that’s what I get for going off of 2 years ago when they played the best team in WV

Agree, bigger than some small colleges, with decent to good speed, IMO.

Just what Ironton needed. A dog fight. I think I would have kicked the extra point and gone to ot with momentum.

I would’ve kicked it and went to OT. Not so much about the win, but for the extra game reps and the experience of playing in OT, could happen in the playoffs. Horrible play call on the 2pt conversion as well. Terry is electric, he definitely put on a show for Missouri coaches. RB for team Canada had 35 totes lol. Ironton will go 9-1 with 1 good test that being this game that they could’ve won.

First time watching Ironton this year

1. Terry is probably best all purpose player I’ve seen in high school. Reminds me of Antwon Randle el from Indiana
2. Schreck is a first team all Ohio QB. Good with feet. Great leadership.
3. Secondary defense for Ironton really good. They got a couple of pass td on them but the defender was there. Just a good play from the offense

As for this game.

The Canadian team was massive up front. No wonder they ran it the entire game. They weren’t near as fast as Ironton and you can tell contract tackling may not be their favorite drills. A lot of arm reaching and high form. Even at that, they outmatched Ironton in areas and Ironton held their own and then some.

The decision to go for two was the correct one. If that’s a playoff game then I would say kick it and go to overtime.

Horrible horrible decision to go for it to win the game. Took the game right out of the kids hand becuz the coach wanted to be greedy.

Really the game was right there for them to win. You could see the last drive Ironton could not stop the run. I think the kids and the coaches did and outstanding job period!

Great game! Two point try was the right call unless Clarkson was gonna sit their O-line the rest of the night!

Terry doesn't seem to get tired. He ran a hundred yards to gain 15 yards. The very next play they throw one to him deep. That was the only time I saw his hands on his knees sucking fo air. This kid should be dynamic playing one side of the ball.

Play call on the 2 pt was there. #24 was open. #12 just couldn't see him over a couple 6'6 guys coming. The O line and D lines were just too much for the much smaller Ironton kids. They held their own pretty well just too much to handle. Give them credit they fought hard till the very end. They won't see a team like that the rest of the year.

Canada was the better team, ironton played well considering the matchup. I think going for 2 was the right call. But why can’t terry get the ball 20 times a game?( in big games)He’s a division 1 WR. It’s not like he would be running in between the tackles. Ironton wins because they have better players than everyone else. I think the coaches outsmarted themselves. Players> Not Plays

Just guessing, but I think they limit his touches because he also plays "D" and special teams. If he was only an offensive guy, I agree, get him the ball early and often.

He should certainly get more touches, I also noticed once Josh Johnson was back he didn’t play defense for a couple of games but they must’ve wanted his speed more this time, or you can even ponder if it was because Mizzou staff was there to watch him so they gave him reps on D.

Fun Game to watch. And with expanded playoffs it didn’t hurt to go for 2. They will look at film and learn from it. Canada was big and the running back was strong. Tigers needed this and I think seeing results of Prep game I think ironton can handle them. They will look at film of what burg did, they played prep really well. One of the better games of the year to watch.

First off I was to congratulate Clarkson North on a great game last night. They are as advertised (which we knew). They are the best program in Canada and the only Canadian school that plays a National Schedule in the USA. They have only been around 6 years or so. This is first year of new HC. He was previously the Coach of The Toronto Argonauts of the CFL. They are the IMG of Canada and are as advertised.

About OUR TEAM now. I can’t tell you how proud I am of our young men and program. The direction this program is heading is undeniable. Coach always says the goal on the field is 🏆s and to be THE BEST SMALL SCHOOL PROGRAM in the country. I believe those goals are all clearly in sight. Last night, I watched our kids lay it on the line for IRONTON and Southern Ohio. We were giving up a Foot in height and 150lbs in many spots across the DL. They had no one play both ways and rotated a bunch of bodies at every position. They were the Biggest HS Football team I had ever seen. Avg. 6’5 294 across the front and they were all every bit of that. They had great athletes with several having D1 offers. Our kids never wavered. They embrace those challenges and love to play in those environments. When we say Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere we stand on it. We have the upmost confidence in our kids and program that we can play with ANYONE. Yesterday was an eventful day to say the least. With time changes, the Roof to the stadium being partially blown off and lifted from the structure to the Locker room being completely flooded to completely switching venues and pulling it off in 2.5 hours. If that doesn’t tell you that we mean what we say than nothing will. We carry that we will play in the parking lot if we have to mentality everyday. Back to last night. As the Defensive Coordinator. I completely agreed with going for 2 and the win. We are going to bet on our young men every time in that situation. Midway through 3rd Qtr. Coach Pendleton was walking up sideline and said if it’s 1 score game late. We are going for the WIN. He asked the kids/staff their thoughts late in the game. Everyone 100000% agreed. Let’s WIN it now. The Ball didn’t bounce our way at times last night and especially at the of the game but if done over again we would DO IT AGAIN. As a former player and now coach. Who wouldn’t want to play for someone that believes in his kids that much. Willing to risk an undefeated record to win a game against a National program. It takes GUTS to make that call and stand on it. I’m not a morale victory guy and don’t want to talk to ppl anytime after a loss. But the way our Young men play the game and the toughness and grit they show is admirable. The staff at Clarkson North has played literally played almost every major program in East coast the last 6 years and they came up to us outside the locker room last night and said coach. Your young men play harder and with more discipline than any team we have ever faced. “They are the standard on EFFORT, TOUGHNESS and DISCIPLINE”. As a coach I am proud to hear they earned respect nationally last night.

THERE IS NOT ANOTHER PROGRAM WITHIN 100 MILES WILLING TO PLAY A TEAM LIKE THAT or a schedule like ours. (The Standard is the Standard)

Lastly, thank you to Green Local School District for being such great hosts and accommodating us on such short notice. The administraton/ game day crew was first class and did an excellent job. Fighting Tiger Nation and all of SEO packed the stadium and made it a great environment for high level HS Football. THANK YOU again for the support.

ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME🐅

On to Pikeville!

Man what a ball game. This L was worth a million ovc wins. Ironton got even better tonight and is a bonafide D5 juggernaut in Ohio. Pikeville is about to run into a BUZZ SAW. lol
