I did forget to congratulate the Bulldogs on a good effort. They never quit, but neither did the BUCKEYES!

Cameron Tope really ran hard (especially in the 1st half) and I was very impressed with his demeanor and respect after a tough loss (He really seems like a good kid).

Their kids kept coming all night long....... In the end, they just came up short.

Good luck next week ;-)

Yeah I saw the same thing about the rankings...............

I wasn't going to say anything about it because I was really hoping that no one from Ironton would find out, I mean none of them care too much about football do they :?:   :122246 :122249

(Just kidding Ironton fans................ all you have to do is log onto PREPS and you get a pretty good idea how seriously you folks take your football)

Great job Nelsonville, Athens, you guys played 4 quarters just made to many mistakes. Its time to get ready for next friday, if the Bucks dont defend the pass better its going to be a long night. Ironton will bring the complete package. They can RUN and PASS, which scares me. The bucks need to get more guys involved and play defense like they have never played it.
Its Senior night, the Bucks need a loud crowd, and the boys have to play 110% from the start and have to play 4 quarters.

Buckeyes 32
Ironton 28

GOOD LUCK BUCKEYES!!!!!!!

Nelsonville (7-1) , the #1 ranked team in DV Region 19 lost to Berne Union 28-14 in week 3 this year.
Liberty Union (7-1), the #6 ranked team in DV Region 19 destroyed Berne Union last night 42-0.
The difference is that NY is getting a good deal of 2nd level points (help from teams they've beaten such as Meigs, Trimble, and Piketon). LU isn't getting much help at all from the teams they've beaten. They actually DROPPED from 5th to 6th after a WIN last night. However, if the Lions do make it to the playoffs, lookout. They are a big and explosive team. I know they wish they had their one hiccup (West Jefferson) of the year back with another shot at them.

great game bulldogs, many will try and blame this game on coach adams due to the fact that he threw the ball on 1st and goal in the 4th,but if you think to earlier in the game when athens was putting a drive toi=gether and they had somewhere around 4 penalties that kept bumping them back to the 50 yd line. yes it was a bad call, but still the only reason we were in the game was b/c of the calls he made through out the whole game, plus trey harris threw to an open reciever but chance fox made a great break on it,its football crazy things happen.....

Great game! the dogs looked solid with just a few breakdowns. and the Buckeyes looked a little sluggish, any running back who is dissappointed with a 180yard game is a heck of a person. Go buckeyes and GO dogs! We need the points!!!!!

Athens came to play and gave a great effort, the best they have given all year.
Certainly evidence of improvement including the coaching. The passing call is like any other decision made by a coach, your a hereo if it works and an S.O.B. if it does'nt. Coach Adams understands and it would be more productive if the local Saturday morning clowns would get the point. Everyone has them, does'nt make it easy to listen to their b.s. Great game Bulldogs.

WELCOME TO THE T.V.C.

First down and goal at the three and you throw? Why not give it to big #44? I would bet the house dog and kids that in 4 chances that Tope makes it from there. Even the T.V. announcer said I'd give it to big 44 and than
we throw. Besides that great game by the dogs and they will compete in years to come in the TVC Ohio.

Heck Athens already has at least two TVC championships. Golf and Cross Country. Good start in you first year.

Yeah nothing says unbiased reporting like a string of expletives over the airwaves after your team throws a big interception at the goal line

Oh well, not like I expected them to cheer for the Buckeyes ;-)

Throwing on first down on the goal line was not a terrible call. If you remember correctly the Athens running game was stalled in the second half, big plays in the passing game put you in position to score. I do not recall how many 3rd and shorts Athens didn't convert in the second half after going for it on fourth down. Sounds to me like the staff at Athens have the boys going in the right direction. :122249

I thought the tv announcer was cheering for the coach becuase you can hear him say great call coach after he was swearing! :122245

It was a great game. Hey Zanesville give Logan a great scare, I heard logans coach tell his player as they left the field, "They cant all be easy" when logan was favored by 3 td's. Athens coach was great one play earlier when he threw it on 4th and inches. I didnt hear that lady yelling change quarterbacks after the int.

The cussing and yelling at the coach, That was the "barnyard" call coach!
