As unbiased observer I agree that the calls were--okay. The endzone call was correct and there were several holds that were not called---especially when Shears rolled out. Having said that the game was still tighter than the score. Minford had 4 turnovers to burgs 1 and one of those was a pick six. These teams are both WAY down from where the've been but congrats to burg for winning the games they should have----Minford has not. As for the defenses---they both looked decent at times but if I knew what Minford was going to run just by watching then I'm sure Burg had it figured out as well. Burg should finish 7-3 and Minford 5-5. On to next season for both of your young squads.

On The Rocks--I know a lot about Minford's Weight Program and kids in it and they have some of the strongest kids in the area. I have friends whose kids play there and at their lift-a-thon there were several benching over 300 pounds and some crazy dead-lifts as well.

Why would a Notre Dame fan come to a thread that has nothing to do with their team and shoot off like that? Bring something constructive to the conversation. My experience is not to put down a team that would not only beat Notre Dame but probably would make them pull a Cincinatti Oyler and pack it up and get going.

Didn't see this game, but officiating in the games I've been to has been horrendous at times. The West Valley game was bad both ways. Holding is getting rediculous. When you have these spread offenses, you may have one defender in the area to make a play, or it goes for 20 yards. If you corners and d ends are getting their jerseys pulled off, it's getting out of control.

Where you at now Minford fans???? I bet there is not a one of you now that can say that wasn't pass interference. The sad thing about it was that back official was right there on top of the play. He was horrible. He also didn't throw the flag on the one that Eddie Miller caught on the 4 yard line. That pic, if someone has it would look just about the same.

As for the play out of endzone, I'm not sure what the rule is. I know you can't return a kickoff that goes into the endzone, but not sure on an INT. I don't think he would of scored as several Burg players were heading towards him on the sideline. He might of scored, but we'll never know. You guys hired those clowns. Like was said above, the head ref looked down the line on that one first down, saw that it wasn't a first down, moved the ball up and then signaled first down.

That picture definitely provides a much better view of that play than what crab apple and I had where we were sitting. To us, it looked like a drop and we were a little stunned to see coach Woodward go so balistic on the sideline. After seeing that picture, I now see his argument.

By the way, that is a great picture!!! And, I think the shot of the catch by E. Miller at the the 4 is in the PDT today...

Roger Gray and his pardner on the radio both commented on this move at the time but they said it was 2 feet short of a 1st down.
Come to think of it, I think I even noted their comments in my updates...

I just went back and checked and here is my quote from the updates on page 4....

"on 3rd..Gaines 2 ft short of 1st. according to radio but officials say 1st.."

If im a minford fan id spin it like this "If anything it looks like the Minford player is helping the Burg player, because without the push, that ball looks uncatchable." lol

I guess that's why you don't ref a game from 100 yards away. Me and Jesco were at the other end of the field and it did look like a drop and good defense. Clearly not the case... I still didn't notice the officiating as much as some, but I wasn't looking either. Lol

Sure looks like pass interference. Will have to agree have seen some bad officiating this season. In the West and Valley game on Valleys first td and a few other plays for good gains on our side of the field there were some bad holds that were not called. Yates does a great job eluding pressure and Valleys blockers do a good job of not getting caught holding the defender. I do know that we benefited from some no calls also in that game. In our game with Waverly there was several times that forward progress was stopped and it seemed like 4or 5 seconds would pass before the play was whistled dead, it seemed to happen more when the Tigers were on offense, that is a easy way for someone to get hurt for no reason, just glade no one did I think. Sounds like the Pirate and Falcon fans did get to watch a good ball game last night.

Because he is a troll. And I don't see ND scheduling Minford anytime soon. Why would Minford want to play them anyway. Average years they would give very little playoff points. They are better off playing in the little SOC and little schools from far away that havent developed a solid football program yet.

And INTs can be returned from the endzone and there were no Burg players even close to him. No Burg players even on that side of the field and none downfield if him.

No biggie. Minford played hard. It's a down year and they will be back soon.
