Orange and Brown.....You may in fact be kidding around, and I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, it's just that some posts can come across as arrogant, whether you intended for them to be or not.

orange andbrowni do not think you are anything less than proud and with reason. win or lose i know you want our best and i believe meigs is better this year than last. we got a real ego boost last year making the play-offs. the kids see that it has meaning. last years game was a classic. this years , well i hope we beat the snot out of you so i can go home early  but i know that won't happen. let's go deep into the 4th and play it like it means the world. i hope you make the play-offs again, hope we do too.btw we alway eat at sonic when we go there, may i suggest mcklure's?

that team had, as i recall, 15 seniors. they where loaded. we where like deer in headlights. i hope we saw what was possible because their school was like ours. the main difference i believe was they knew what they where doing and we did not. the good part is, we where not exposed like ironton was though. looking at the results of the 2 games ours was more competitive than theirs. keep your pride. play hard and remember kids, that august heat is worth it in late october.
again best of luck to nelsonville, good luck vinton, and anyone else in the tvc. there is no rule that says 3 teams can't get in.

This should be a great year for TVC Ohio football! I think the Buckeyes have too many distractions and will go down twice in league play this year. Not only to the Marauders (2009 Champs) but the Athens Bulldogs as well. I also think the Rockets will have a chance to beat the Buckeyes. After all, we are all coming after you in Buchtel!

If the Bucks loose its not because of distractions.

I look for Meigs to win their first TVC Championship since 1998!

I am very glad to hear Coach Boston is back.

athens? excuse me but what i saw last year was ny and meigs and a drop off like the grand canyon. what would make you say athens? they had a squad of only about 30 of which 25 where jv's apparently and about 4 where seniors. what group of kids do they have coming back? you have got to entice more than 1% to play to build a program. that is needed BEFORE you talk about winning. you have got to beat somebody besides vinton county to start talking championship. personally nelsonville is the only school that has any right to brag about winning the title because they always do. i think meigs can but before they do... well talking ain't doing. meigs, athens beat nelsonville THEN talk. big talk by mom and dad is hard to swallow for jr. in october.

fasteach,

Athens had Nelsonville beat (much like Meigs) late in the game but threw a interception inside the 5 yard line that nelsonville returned for a touchdown.

Athens was a much improved team throughout the season! They was not the same team Meigs played week 4 when they played the Buckeyes.

They lose Cameron Tope which will hurt A LOT but they are returning some studs.

To be the champ you gotta beat the champ tho and NY is the champ. There is only coulda shoulda wouldas with Meigs and Athens from 2008.

But lets not make fun of Athens, that's not Meigs Football style to talk crap about other schools... We have class.

I think too many people are counting Athens out way too soon. They will give both Nelsonville and Meigs a run for their money. Athens plays both teams at home this season which only helps. Wasn't at the meigs game last year but heard meigs had a few extra players on the field every possession ( :122249 ) and we all know about the interception heard around the county last year at NY. Athens was just a few plays away from a better record last season. Bulldogs will return this season out for vengence. Go Bulldogs!

I look for a lot of close games this year. I really don't see a lot of blow outs.

until you do it it ain't done. that goes for meigs and it goes for athens. the last time i looked at a box score the line covering "almost" was not on it. right now ny has the "did" and that makes them the best. you can dislike them, you can poke fun at them. they are the champs. don't like it? then do not almost do something.
btw when tope was 95% of the bulldog offense, doesn't losing him mean alot?

Athens has a lot of speed coming back and from what I have been told they are going to throw the ball a lot this year. I think 5-5 or 6-4 is possable for them.

I think its about time I start gettin on here. I think this years TVC will be a great year. A lot of returning talent coming from all around the area esp in the TVC. I'm very biased so I see NY taking the crown but its not going to be easy by any means. I'm looking for a big year for Arnold on both sides of the ball, but I think you will see a lot of new names getting a lot of attention for the buckeyes. Arnold is a given but you look at the fullback position and see a cunningham. Justin is a great athlete with some nice size and he is a Cunningham for gods sake LOL. You also have Andrews playing anywhere from quaterback to wingback to tightend. I'd like to see him at QB b/c the kid is a leader and very positive not a mention a straight up athlete who ain't scurred LOL. Those are the names that come to mind right off the top but your gonna see a lot more like Miliron(has a lot of potential), Hunter (keeps gettin bigger and bigger), Bunting (deadly weapon at tightend lookin for big things this year from this kid), Dennis(little center but plays like he is the biggest out there), Lyons(I'm not talking about Taco but Nacho is looking more and more like his brother everyday and has potential to be just as good as long as he stays in the weight room), and a couple more. This team is going to be something.

N-Y always a favorite
Meigs the river water this year is full of nutrients so they will be ready
Athens the new comers are gonna fit in perfect to the TVC but just not ready yet but will challenge if not beat the top 2
Belpre another river team that is always underestimated
VC the vikes are never consistent and seem to start thinkin bout basketball season a little too early
Alex the spartans have improved but I think this might be a rebuilding year
Wels rocketland is confusing to me used to be a top notch program and has steadily went downhill

I wish good luck to all area teams and hopefully make it injury free
GO BUCKEYES!!!!!

BuckBob......Welcome to SEOPS, but one of the first "unwritten rules" is to know what you are talking about.

With the exception of last season, Vinton County for the most part has been consistent in the TVC-Ohio between 2nd and 4th-place.

Wellston went 0-10 on the field in 2007, but finished fourth in the TVC-Ohio last year and — like Vinton County — has ranged from 2nd to 4th in the league for most of the last decade.

Those two points are made based on Nelsonville-York winning five of the last six league championships and all but three since the year 2000. Those two points also take into consideration the TVC-Ohio before Athens joined.

Belpre won the league in 2007, Vinton County in 1999 and Wellston in 2001 and 2002.

If you look at the league standings for the last decade, you will find that when Nelsonville-York won the league, it is usually Vinton County, Meigs or Wellston taking 2nd thru 4th.

Hence, I don't see how "the vikes are never consistent" nor how Wellston has "steadily gone downhill."
