The Instructor: You're absolutely right......I forgot to mention them.......the murals are absolutely beautiful......and some of the best in the country........they have made the riverfront a very attractive area and a popular spot for tourists........I have seen a lot of people from out of town taking a tour of the mural walls.

There are also 3 murals inside the new high school.

They are beautiful too.

The sports mural has the "P" from the old gym floor incorporated in it.

Some think it is a painted "P" but when you get close, you can see it is from the wood floor. I think it was clever to add it to the mural.

The other murals are of the old high school and 3 huge Trojans welcoming you to the school.

so where will he play running back or reciever?

I heard the possible transfer can run and jump like a deer.

The rock wall seems a little too close the back of the endzone. It won't take long for someone to get hurt by that. However, it looks amazing and so does everything else.

I think that wall just looks closer than most chain link fence because those big 500 lb. boulders just look a little more substantial than a dinky fence. lol

the wall is no biggie, all they have to do is put padding on it like they do for high school basketball.

maybe a good idea, would be to sel some advertisements on paddiing to go on the wal?

I think the back of the endzone is fine, its the corner of the back of the endzones that will probably need some pads..

If Im not wrong, I think the post for the goal post has to be 4 feet behind the endzon, with the cross bar being right at the back of the endzone.

if so, then that leaves about 5 maybe 6 feet from back of endzone to the wall.

Drove by today, man things are looking sharp. I can't wait to see the finished product. This will really attract students to come and play for Portsmouth.

Get your season tickets early!! :12224 :122246

There is 11 feet of space between the plane of the crossbar (the back edge of the endzone) and the wall........there will be a decision about the wall made after the turf has been laid.........the matter will be taken care of properly......I talked to Ralph Applegate yesterday, and he is very aware of the situation. I'm quite sure that when the stadium is finished, it will be a non-issue.

He told me that the levee is going to have to be reseeded.......with the heavy rains of late, it has done some minor damage to the grass growth........they plan of making some repairs to the levee and then laying down a net to keep the hay in place.

What a beautiful facility.........and there will be plenty of seats available.......I have heard different figures about the actual capacity.......but it looks like the home side will have somewhere around 4,000 to 4,500, while the visitors side will have around 1,500.

I told Mr. Applegate that he and the planners have done a great job in the design of this project........the fieldhouse looks stunning, with the color schemes matching those of the high school/junior high across the street. I love the fact that the trees behind the home side are being kept. I wanted to see those trees kept.......it gives the stadium more of a park-like feel.

I can almost guarantee that there will probably be in excess of 6,000 people when West comes to open up the new stadium. The levy will get a lot of business too.......

GO TROJANS!!!

The color scheme for the home side seats will be blue, red, and blue.......the red seats will be the reserved section in the middle, flanked by blue seats on each side.

A new stadium won't attract students to come and play there.

Winning and the opportunity to earn college scholarships will attract students to come and play there.

Great teachers won't bring them in either.

Students don't change schools to play sports because of great teachers.

Winning brings them in. :122249
