Hey bucknut27 you must have forget who the coach was in the Late 80's at sv cause he coached your football team too! About 7 years ago! Remember?? So you can't say it's the coaching! Unless your talking about your team too!
Re: Week 8: Oak Hill (6-1) @ Symmes Valley (7-0)
I know who it was. I also know it's like that every year for Symmes Valley so you're right it must not be the coaches. I do know without calling out players that 99% of the coaches in the area would have benched one of the SV players for his continuous flagrant actions Friday night.Longtimefan wrote:Hey bucknut27 you must have forget who the coach was in the Late 80's at sv cause he coached your football team too! There are some trash talking and cheap shots in all games. That is the game of football. Emotions ran high for players and fans. Some handle it like grown adults and some like small children. I have watched SV several times this year and they are much more disciplined than most teams. Lets FORGET IT and look forward to the next two weeks and finish the regular season with two wins.

Re: Week 8: Oak Hill (6-1) @ Symmes Valley (7-0)
I'm going to go ahead and address this thought of "Symmes Valley plays dirty." I was fed this lie my first three years of high school the whole week of practice before we played SV. Coaches telling us to keep our hands in tight around piles because SV players are going to come running by trying to step on hands. Then my senior year I played for the Vikings and not once did I hear anyone talk about choking someone (that's ridiculous and probably didn't even happen) or pinching (anymore than any other team) or anything to intentionally be dirty! Were the cheap shots taken? Yea there are at every school especially in a game like Fridays. And the player you all are talking about that should have been thrown out is a good young man and I'm sure would not choke someone. He's smarter than that! So give up the "dirty play" argument because I've experienced it first hand...on both sides of the topic!

Very well stated OhcaptainMycaptain. Thanks for the info from a source that has actually been on the field and had the experience on both sides.

It is not just football that Symmes Valley has played dirty. I thought a few of their basketball players in the late 90's were actually crazy the way they were acting.
Re: Week 8: Oak Hill (6-1) @ Symmes Valley (7-0)
This is starting to get into a pi$$ing contest on things to see who was worse. Crazy and dirty players that is what a ref is suppose to take care of if the coach does not. Sometimes playing hard people may see it as playing dirty. The Tennesse Titans were accused of this but as many pointed out the play hard to the whistle.
One thing is for sure is that Oak Hill has never had a police escort to get out of the area safely. Which has has happened different times to a variety of teams from SV. Even once at Oak Hill during a varsity girls game around 83 or 84. One of Oak Hill's parents came out of the stands during the game to rip the whistle off the neck of a ref. The a fight started which didn't include anyone from SV. The police came and everyone from SV had to go to the middle of the floor for their safety. Then the police followed the bus out of town.
Things can be brought up about each team and the fans along with specific situations that are remembered from a certain point of view. The best thing is to promote good sportmanship not only to your players but to the fans for both schools. The past is the past and from now move on. Good luck to both schools during every game in every sport in this year.

Bunch of ball babies I swear. I know Farmer wasn't a dirty player. Now I'm not sure about the guys that played on either side of him.
OH won the game stop crying. You all act like SV whooped your precious little angels in the parking lot after the game. Don't like to play rough then there's probably room for more flute players in the band.

I believe that SV fans were the ones that were crying. I think Oak Hill Fans have just shown why the Oak Hill players were acting the way they did.
Teams tend to put blinders on when their team is doing things but not the other team. I think Oak Hill fans have all admitted that some of the stuff Oak Hill players were doing was uncalled for, but not so much from the Symmes Valley side. Blinders must have been really dark that night.

Good luck to Oak Hill and Symmes Valley the rest of the way.
I see Oak Hill doing pretty well in the playoffs this year.

We haven't admitted what to what the SV players were doing because what you say they were doing could not visible. IDK how we can see someone pinching someone in a pile of players from the stands. If that did happen....suck it up, it's football! Oak Hill was the better team, thats why they won. No one is denying that. Some players were acting a little out of line, thats all we are saying. It's not any deeper than that so quit digging.MightyOaksFan wrote:Boonedawg wrote:Bunch of ball babies I swear. I know Farmer wasn't a dirty player. Re: Week 8: Oak Hill (6-1) @ Symmes Valley (7-0)
What about the fans from Symmes Valley yelling at their players to break his leg or break his ribs again?? Ever think this may be the reason he pointed to the scoreboard and waved his arms for them to stand up and cheer when the Oaks scored? It seems like everytime I walked over the the stinky ole bathroom I heard a negative comment about Slone, Hale and Maynard. Anyways, game is over good luck to symmes valley the rest of the year!
Re: Week 8: Oak Hill (6-1) @ Symmes Valley (7-0)
I also heard someone yelling to break his ribs again. Some people just don't know how to act. Those people are the ones who make the whole team/fans look bad when it's just a few people acting that way! Too many Oak Hill people are putting down Symmes Valleys field and facilities. It wasn't just about, what, 6-7 years ago Oak Hill had crappy lights and stinky ole bathrooms.
Re: Week 8: Oak Hill (6-1) @ Symmes Valley (7-0)
Just drop this. Oak Hill dominated the second half, won and Symmes lost. Oak Hill has played better teams. Both teams will be in the playoffs and win at least a game apiece. Both teams have bigger fish to fry.
