Agreed, what was the big change?

They moved the Cooper kid to center and switched their Guards/Tackles.

Also the QB seems to have gotten healthier, IMO.

^Why do you care about my opinion? I try to use stats with predictions since Jackson plays out west. Jackson barely beat Chillicothe and Desales was up 42-7 at half on. Jackson just beat Logan. Desales blew them off the field. Athens and Logan are pretty close. Zanesville beat Athens 55-0. Jackson is a lot better since they lost to Wheelersburg. Jackson is by far the most improved team in our area after week 1. The computers had Jackson and Zanesville losing last week.

Comparison scores are dangerous.

First, Jackson actually dominated the game against Chillicothe. CHS only gained 87 yards and 5 first downs. Jackson fumbled SIX times (only lost one) but mistakes in the redzone forced them to kick two first half FGs. Chillicothe's 2nd TD in regulation was a blocked punt recovery. This was also before Jackson switched their center (they couldn't do the Center/QB exchange to start the season).

Secondly, when DeSales beat Chillicothe it was after Chillicothe's QB was injured. So DeSales was playing against Chilli's second string QB.


Finally, Jackson didn't "just beat" Logan. They dominated the game.

My son (who is now a sophomore in the Dayton area) and I have for years have been enjoying what I call "The Jackson Experience" i.e. traveling to Ironmen playoff games. We are regrettably going to miss this one in Athens. Wishing the Ironmen the best of luck.
