the winner of this game is only guaranteed to play in the final game! with that said the burg/cw winner may be favored in the final but whoever there opponent is earned the other spot and will bring it also

What has the OHSAA done to Wheelersburg? Many expected the game to be played in Dayton. Xenia is closer. Home bleachers mean nothing.

I've read on here that this game should've been the final because these are the two best teams. Maybe. Wheelersburg is good and everyone knows Coldwater's history. But Wheelersburg just won an incredibly weak Region in a terrible year for southeastern ohio football. Zane Trace was undefeated, but they weren't very good. Other than opinion, no one knows how good Wheelersburg is because other than Jackson, they really haven't played anyone.

I do think the OHSAA gives teams the shaft on playoff travel distances. But what do we do when they schedule a regional final close (Burg in Waverly, Valley in Nelsonville, West in Ironton); we cry about it not being big enough.

I change my stance a little after i seen his post. Man there is no reason to be crying around when your team is top 4 in the state. EVERY 1 in seo knows ohssa is not going to gve a seo the edge.

The people who vote on the AP poll seem to think they were the two best teams in the state.

The seating whining is legit and it sounds like Waverly is going to try and remedy that. If so, kudos to them. It is a great facility with decent parking. Could become one of the premiere stadiums for playoff games around here.

No team south of 70 and east of 23 will ever get the respect of the OHSAA they deserve

Hard to fault the state for making the team that has been here the home team. I'm guessing the state knows what kind of crowd Coldwater will bring. They are the known entity. If you want to see that as a lack of respect then that is fine, but the state at least has a leg to stand on in this case.

Coldwater played a regular season game in front of 5000+. They will bring a crowd.
The home Team in the final 4 is done in advance and they change it each year... When the Burg wins this game, they will be the home Team for State game... For the home side bleachers , it still goes to the school that has the most pre sale tickets.......

Not sure Home field advantage holds much weight at the Shoe!
Pretty sure both schools travel great, but not that great!

As for seating etc, Too many games at or vs Ironton first game of the season and your 5-6 deep in standing room only. FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON!! As for playoff games, southeast ohio should have their regional finals at Pedan stadium IMO. Noone stands (especially arthritic knees like mine) and can hold the whole of the southeast ohio fans that want to watch their division play for the championship! How many school jackets did I see last Friday as I was standing against the fence on the north side of the endzone... Oak hill, Valley, Chillicothe, Burg, ZT, Paint Valley, Minford, Valley, a cpl Trojans, and a cpl Valley fans. That's a lot of ppl!! Im not complaining at all, I thought it was like playing Ironton again! Worth the money and the time and effort to see Burg win a game in the playoffs! Especially in a reg Championship!!! Been a long time! TOO LONG!!! Wonder if there is not a stadium in Dayton that can hold a state semi with the same seating as Pedan? Wright state maybe? Bearcats stadium in Cincy? And you can schedule three games that day to cover all divisions like the championship games? Same for Pedan?

The MAC has 3 teams in the state semifinals. cw played and beat Marion local... A 4 time state champion and likely 5 in a couple weeks. I'm sure their schedule has prepared them for the burg.... Question is, has the burgs schedule prepared them for CW?

Last thing i will say about HOME TEAM, Seating is the only thing different, no advantage or disadvantage on the game, just how well your view is to watch
from. Most visitor sides have low elevation to include our own. Of the 14 games that is left only 3 teams that are ranked higher than their opponent are the visitors.(There is no point standing in the semi finals) Must be the coin toss Bad luck i guess
