Got the Nctown score from wtov9. And when they were announcing the scores during the Caldwell game, Nctown was on top everytime, so pretty sure they won.

Tough to rank this early. Fort frye has got to be top based on record alone. Not sure what to think of MC. They just don't seem like the MC of old. Rivers game against BD will give us more info on them tomorrow. Shenandoah just seems awful.

As of now I rank it 1. Fort Frye 2. Monroe Central 3. River 4. Caldwell 5. Frontier 6. Trail 7. Doah. Besides Shenandoah I think any team can beat any team and the league is a toss up.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
Caldwell played well. No mistakes. Got up early and controlled the line and tempo of game. Clark played well. His quickness took away Trail's deep passing and they also man- upped to take Starr out of the game. No running game for Trail. Clark also with good QB play - both passing & running. Trail finally managed to make some changes in 2nd half to pull within 1 score but Caldwell pretty much controlled the clock in the 4th. Trail was out coached and out played.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
When it's all said and done MC will still be on the top of the league. What happened with Trail last night with their defense. Caldwell has no talent on offense. Once we start league play LOOK OUT it's all NOLES.

River got dumped trucked tonight 59-21. They trailed 53-0 at halftime. They play Monroe Central at home on Friday.
Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
MC finally gets a break in the schedule with a couple easy wins until the title game with FF.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
Union Local's 45-0 pounding of D4 Buckeye Local makes that loss for MC easier to take. The Noles have had two quality losses while breaking in 4 new starters on the line and a very young and green QB. They are also playing 2 freshmen on defense. Union Local will probably finish around the middle of the pack in the Buckeye 8 this year... watch what they do to Barnesville this week. And Shadyside has the potential to be in the D7 state semi's and possibly the title game.
Everybody is down on the Noles, but I hope they keep their heads up. It isn't one of MC's stronger teams, but it's a young team that will get better each week. They may be 0-2 but nobody else in the PVC has started the season off against teams that come close to matching the Nole's.

Buckeye Local is not going to win a game but I get your point Union Local is much improved and will win 4-6 games.UL still 6 or 7th best Buckeye 8 school.

Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
I would rank the P.V.C as follows:
1. Fort (I don't think they will win it but they are the champs until someone beats them)
2. Central (I still think they will win the league)
3. Caldwell (mixed up the offense from what I heard and are still young)
4. Trail (better than usual, if the other Starr kid could play this year they could have won it)
5. Frontier (Only putting them ahead of River because they have a win)
6. River (Could beat Trail and Frontier)
7. Shenandoah (won't win a game)
I could see the top three challenging for a playoff spot but no guarantees anybody gets in.

Not saying River will beat MC but Fort Frye would probably beat UL, and Bishop Donahue would beat Shadyside.selonmc wrote:Union Local's 45-0 pounding of D4 Buckeye Local makes that loss for MC easier to take. Re: Pioneer Valley Conf 2013
The 90's are long gone and Monroe Central has fallen from being the perennial consensus preseason favorite, to being one of the top contenders for the PVC crown. Its okay though. That makes the season funner for everyone . . . except maybe the Seminoles. Maybe not for them.
