Wow...What a travesty it would be for Athens to slip up in this game and possibly not make the playoffs..

Whoa now BS24 - we don't need to hear such comments - go back to your modeling, Mr. GQ.

Hahaha..Don't get me wrong..I want Athens to win. I want to see how far they can go this year. And when you're a model like me, the companies work around MY schedule.

HA!

But you do realize skipping out on Friday night football, to have movie night with you wife, does disqualify you from making statements on preps? It's not an 'official' rule - but an unwritten one. What's your plan for tonight BTW, you going to be curled up next to the fire eating popcorn and watching Pretty Woman?

How could they miss the playoffs finishing 9-1? Doesn't sound right.

Really wish people would stop already blaming officials for this is Athens should lose. If and that's a big if Athens loses it just give all the Athens haters more reason to say Athens always blames the refs when they lose. Athens again will waltz in burn out that horse and win by at least 3 TD's. Big Red aren't of old just like Zanesvillle wasn't. However what a great atmosphere for these young men to play in. Memories on the why to the State title. Go Dogs

And yesterday didn't athens78 say no one in the state except those around Athens care about this game lol?

It is getting a lot of play around the area as it should.

Good luck to Athens....roll green roll lol

Not much of an Athens fan but got to root for them as they are carrying the banner for Southern Ohio football tonight! I root for any team around here that travels up north

With southeast Ohio already behind the 8-ball - and the rest of the state never giving any recognition to our teams - its a shame some people here want Athens to lose or not make the playoffs.

Even I went up to the hilltop and cheered on the Chieftains during their playoff run in the early-mid 2000's.
Heck, I even drove to Zanesville one year to cheer on Portsmouth West.

Don't warp your view of a team because of 'posters' on southeasternohiopreps - that is ridiculous.

They may be watching but no one cares about the out come except Athens and Big Red. The only reason there is attention is because of the best Quarterback in the country, Burrow is playing in it and it's up North where football rules and Big Red are a tradition Power House, although down this year.

I see that Drew Pasteurs is picking the Big Red by 5 over the Bulldogs on JJ Huddle. What a fool. I also see his rankings of the top 50 schools in the State no matter what division. Athens and Big Red are not on it. However he has De Sales at number 36 and Tri Valley at 46, WTH. He also ranks the top 15 teams in each division. In Division 3 he has De Sales #5, Tri Valley #9 and Jackson #10 and Athens not even in the top 15, again WTH. At least he has Trimble at #6 in Division 7 and Wheelersburg #13 in Division 5 and Valley #15 in Division 6.
