i would hope burg and everyon e else would be more experienced at that time lol plus being healthy at that time is not a given someone else may get hurt same kid may get hurt agin etc
Re: Week 5 : (2-2) Portsmouth @ (0-4) Ironton
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, Ironton dentist would be millionaires! Come on man. Burg will not be scared to play ironton again. You ironton people kill me. You talked the same crap last year, then when your wish came true to play burg again, it was a running clock! No one is scare of the kittens now or ever.IBTT wrote:I would say Ironton has as much a chance as anyone else in this region. Had Ironton not dropped that punt or fumbled deep in burg territory and scored and happened to beat burg and now been 2-3 and Burg been 4-1 would that have changed anything. It might have given Ironton more points for sure in our computer rankings, but if Ironton gets back to playing Wheelersburg a second time who do you think will walk into the game scared? By that time Ironton should be completely healthy. Something they haven't been since the burg game. Also, Ironton will too be much more experienced.
Re: Week 5 : (2-2) Portsmouth @ (0-4) Ironton
Burg fans heard same thing last year "just wait till the playoffs" , how did that turnout?
Re: Week 5 : (2-2) Portsmouth @ (0-4) Ironton
EGO...LMAO...I think you are looking in a mirror....The only person with a hyperactive imagination is you....It amazes me what you type on this site....have you no shame!?IBTT wrote:Let me say this. Whoever you are, you must have an ego that is out of this world that makes you think that whoever you are rooting for is some awesome football team for some stretch of the imagination. In my book winning by four points in a game full of mistakes and penalties by your opposition doesn't make you a great team if you are claiming wheelersburg to be that awesome team. I would figure Valley will probably show them what I am talking about when they play. Ironton has had some major problems pushing the ball into the end zone in the last three games. Heck, during the Russell game more than half the starters were out of the game by the end of the first quarter. Since then Ironton has been down a number of starters and even this past Friday night they were still without a number of starters and Dez Young played with a stomach virus the whole game and still had 174 yards and 17 tackles. You might think you know football, but you sound like to me you might have came from South Point or maybe held a grudge against the fighting tigers because they must have smashed you in the mouth when you were in school. Hate to burst your bubble, but this Ironton team isn't the horrible team some of you wished for. They played tough competition and with a combination of very few players and injuries it has been a tough first four games. To the plus side, now coach Vass has given a lot of playing time to a number of young kids and if needed they know what to do to fill in. Tiger Town is ok guys. Sorry we let some of you haters down Friday.FIDO (Forget It Drive On) wrote:I don't know any other way to say this but you are a freaking idiot....You have talked smack for months and you still don't get it...You rolled over Ptown a team with a weak defense....Nothing, absolutely nothing is to be gained from the win....you know nothing about football and that's plainly obvious...I'd be willing to bet the Burg would beat Ironton by 4 tds if they played today..do all of ironton fans a favor and go back into hiding because you don't have a clue. You don't know talent and you darn sure don't know anything about team dynamics/IBTT wrote:I for one believe if Ironton makes it into the playoffs they may just be the team to beat in our region. Burg ran out of town with a win that they earned but Ironton handed to them. Ironton was decimated by injuries in the Russell game. I believe as long as this team continues to work and clean up the penalties and turnovers they will give anyone a tough game. The line played much better this week. That's where it all starts, and this week they were giving the backs a huge push. Defensively they were in the backfield all night. Hopefully things are coming together as it should with the talent that is there. In a few more weeks all the injured players will be back too. Then we will have a number of positions where we can rest players by playing one way.

LoL I thought the same thing, he described himself perfectly.
Re: Week 5 : (2-2) Portsmouth @ (0-4) Ironton
Are you now trying to tell the world that a high school football player that has made the playoffs will be SCARED because Ironton made the playoffs? Really? The Burg players will be SCARED in a rematch?IBTT wrote:I would say Ironton has as much a chance as anyone else in this region. Did you ever play football? Did you ever put on a uniform and run onto the field on a Friday night? There isn't a high school football starter in the entire state of Ohio SCARED of anything football related! Trust me, the Burg will be a lot of things but SCARED is not what you'll need to be worried about during a rematch.

Ironton will have nothing to lose might be a better way to phrase it. Wheelersburg has a lot to lose. If I was burg I would hate to be in that position seeing that guys like you have ran your mouths all year saying how good you are. Ironton has lost four games and would have loved to have had a play bounce their way and got a win or two or three. That not happening, it will be sweeter to get a win late in the playoffs.

Your misguided consistent enthusiasm is commendable if nothing else. You can't find a post anywhere in this forum about me hyping the Burg or any other team. I give praise when praise is warranted, to any team. Again, if you think for a second a high school football player gives a rats behind about what is being said on this forum come kickoff time then you have never played a down as a starter in high school football. Old FIDO called out one of our great fans on SEOPs so lets go out and kick the Burgs A$$..IS that how that would work?IBTT wrote:Ironton will have nothing to lose might be a better way to phrase it. I just spit milk out of mouth when I read there was a coaching change from the box to field. I remember when burg brought in their 2nd string offensive coordinator back in 09, they almost went to state.
Vass is .500, maybe they can switch him with a JV receivers coach. Ironton is a good football team but using excuses like if we didn't drop the football or had so many penalties, is the worst thing you can possibly say. Why? BECAUSE A GOOD TEAM DOESNT DO THOSE THINGS!

Re: Week 5 : (2-2) Portsmouth @ (0-4) Ironton
I believe there are no excuses. Burg won game 1 by 4 points. If Ironton gets another chance at them I believe this year will be much different than last season. Ironton still has a lot of games to play, as does Burg. Let's see when they get there.

Wow ironton beats a bad ptown squad and now they can beat anyone! Haha cg don't even start man. U know that ironton will not beat burg. Ironton better worry about winning the rest of their cupcake schedule so that maybe they can get a chance to be spanked by the pirates for the 5th straight time!

I'll tell you what man. If anyone scores more than 14 on burg in the Regular season I will forget all about your little walk down 52!
