Re: WK5 Waverly (4-0) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
Which way is the fastest/best route to get there from Waverly? Looks like its pretty close to the same time and miles for both the 23/180 route and the 23/32 route.

I would do 23/32 if it were me.MasterOfNone wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 3:18 pm Which way is the fastest/best route to get there from Waverly? Looks like its pretty close to the same time and miles for both the 23/180 route and the 23/32 route.

And suck the life out of Nelsonville.Ground Buck wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 9:59 amLOL I hope Waverly thinks the way you do. If so, they'll have a rude awakening on their first possession. They put 33 on Northwest. Who is 0-4. Put 21 on Rock Hill. 7 on Oak Hill. Are you seeing where I'm going with this? I don't think Nelsonvilles defense has been tested. That will change on Friday.Sports-nut wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2017 7:48 am
And they put 33 points on the board. Is Minford's offense underrated or is NY defense overrated?

Re: WK5 Waverly (4-0) @ Nelsonville-York (4-0)
Just over 24 hours til kickoff! I always get excited on Thursday evening. I know how hard our young men work and it's always fun to see them come out and play on Friday nights.
Tomorrow night is Jr high band night at Dave Boston Field and I am excited for the Jr high band members to get a chance to play in front of a Friday night crowd.
A certain poster has run his chops all week saying stupid stuff just to troll and we hope that all you Waverly fans don't assume we are all like that.
We try our best to treat our visitors well each and every home game.
Tomorrow night should be a warm one. We all hope you enjoy your trip to our home.
I'm absolutely positive we will all get our money worth tomorrow night from both teams.
Have a safe trip to and from Boston Field!
GO BUCKS GO!

Just to confirm, this is a 7:30 start time tonight....correct?
Going to take a monstrous effort by Waverly tonight to get a win. Nelsonvillle is the best team we have faced so far no doubt. Go Tigers!

Excited for this one tonight! Should be a great game, and hopefully both teams come out injury free.
Glad to hear it is a 7:30 start, gives us Tiger faithful a little more time to make it their after work. Plus the sun will be close to going down by then, which will help make it a little cooler.

We know Orange and Brown...every village has an idiot! lol Nelsonville and Waverly's history goes back to the 80's when we used to scrimmage them every year. Ed Bolin had a lot of respect for Coach Boston, and in fact, Coach Boston's son-in-law, Kevin Meade (who later of course went on to be a head coach at NY), was my quarterback coach in high school. He was a very knowledgeable guy who played at Akron...good offensive mind. It was always a good, tough scrimmage that got both teams ready for their respective seasons. I expect nothing different in this game. I think you'll see a few tweaks to the Tigers tonight, which should help the team with the brutal 4 week stretch we have in front of us (NY, Valley, Burg, West...w/ 3 of 4 of those on the road). I think the Tigers will win the battle in the trenches, but this game could still come down to who has the ball last or the proverbial turnover battle. I can't wait for 7:30...good luck Tigers and hope both teams come out healthy.

I'll take the Tigers, 32-28. I just hope the kicking game is better and doesn't cost them needed points in a tight game.
