Piketon is getting over $302,000.00 unexpected money from the State, maybe that will help.

Derf_W:

Why don't you start a thread asking people from Scioto and Lawrence Counties if they think that the Piketon - Waverly game should be the Week One game of the week and see how that goes.

Waverly plays Jackson in Week 2.
Scioto County and Lawrence County can talk all they want about 'Burg and Ironton, but you'll have to lock me in a rubber room and throw away the key before I'd miss this one. I can see this game giving the winner much needed Level 2 points come end of the season. How bout a re-match in Jackson or Lucasville about Week 12?
Actually Make that game in Peden Stadium at OU we'll need the seating.

Well, three days of two-a-days, six practices in all, are in the books. The kids at Waverly have worked hard and have improved each day. Conditioning hasn't been an issue because the kids worked so hard this summer and nearly all showed up in shape.

How are Piketon's two-a-days going?

The Tigers were indeed in great shape starting 2 a days. It surprised me to read about other teams coming in out of shape and even moving practices inside (gym).
I know this young Tiger group will be hungry.

These young men are working hard, starting two a days Monday after the fair.

I am assuming Roback will be under center? Has he been to any summer camps, I know he has done very well at some elite camps in the past.

The home side fence has been moved in 8 or so feet from the west end of the home side to the middle of the turn on the east side. The scoreboard is being refurbished and plans to move small bleachers along the backstretch and temporary fence are in the works. The only area that will not have good standing room to watch will be on the west endzone. Nearly 350 yards of fencing from which to watch. Also, moving the visitors band to portable bleachers in the west endzone will free up seating on the visitors side.

Should be a fun game to watch, will definately have some offensive skills being shown on both sides.
