West needs to throw the ball effectively against Ready. Ready is a team that can do it all on both sides of the ball and will find a way to stop the run, especially a 2 headed monster.

I know that Alfie can throw the ball, but the problem is that he has not had to throw much this season as no team in the SOC could stop their running game. But with 1 RB out, that puts more carries on the other 2, which can wear on a high school RB during the course of a game against a very good defense. They need to be able to establish a running game and also take some shots against Ready. West is a very good clock management offense, so their offense will be their best defense if they can sustain drives and get points off them.

I think this will be a nail biter.

Good luck from Minford this weekend. I think if West can get by Ready, state tournament, here they come.

I agree. If West wins this they may not lose. I picked them to win the region but after further looking at Ready and talking to a few people, I don't know if West will beat them. They (BR) can score points on anyone! Good luck Siders!

Well....I will believe that when I see it. Ridgewood was suppose to score 21+ against West in what they was calling a good game!! As you see it didn't happen. I think that West will come out balanced this week and if they do they will win! :!:

Ridgewood isnt Ready, I can promise you that. And I dont know who said Ridgewood would score 21+, I never saw it.

All SOC teams and fans are behind WEST, but you are going to have your hands full with this team. I think West can win, I hope they win, and if they do, I think they can win out.

Out of 8 games, Ready played 5 schools that are in bigger divisions. They beat the crap out of Bishop Hartley, who made the playoffs in D4.

But they lost to West Jeff, who I think West can match up against, so I think that West is more than capable of winning this game. To do so, they have to mix it up a little.

If you remember, Portsmouth, I think in 2000 played back to back weeks in Hillsboro.

Burg_Grad_77 wrote:West, welcome to the wonderful world of the OHSAA and the ridiculous playoff sites for Scioto and Lawrence county teams. Wheelersburg finished the #1 seed quite a few times back in the 90's but would always have to travel to Cincy to play their 2nd round games against Cincy area schools. I can recall a few times that they played Germantown at Princeton High School when the Burg was the higher seed and the home team which was a 130+ mile trip for the Pirates and about 35 or 40 for GVV. They had the same problem with Versailles a couple of times and had to travel to Cincy to play them when the Pirates were the higher seed. Heck, the first ever playoff game the Pirates were ever in against Hamilton Badin was played at Dayton Welcome Stadium which is right in Hamiltons backyard, so yo speak.
At least it looks like you have a great facility to play your game at. I think if you play your style of ball and limit your penalties you guys will have no problem with Ready. Good luck and hopefully both the Siders and the Pirates win this week and can meet up for the regional title and hopefully that game is at Jackson and not Spartan. Spartan couldn't handle the crowd, especially the visitors side. Jackson would be a much better facility to play a game of that magnitude.

GOOD LUCK SIDERS!!!!

BEAT READY!!!!!

The first ever playoff game for the Pirates was in fact against Dayton Bellbrook, not Badin, but still yet, hence the name. DAYTON Bellbrook and it was played in Dayton.. Like BG77 said though, the OHSAA has been putting it to the Southern teams quite a bit over the years.

If West and Burg do meet up and they do pick Spartan, every Burg fan nees to write a letter to the commish stating how unsfe the visitors side is at that stadium. I guess we'll cross that bridge if it happens.

It was on the puddle who said they would score 21+......I've seen them on film, I really don't think they match up well with West.... Unless the film is fooling me???

Over on the Puddle I seriously think every poster is a Bishop Ready player or a kid, they are so childish with their posts. They will find out when the West Side goes up to Logan and smacks them in the mouth.

GO WEST!

Hello pot, this is the kettle calling!!
West fans are the most one sided, childish posters.
And credit due. This season you guys have walked the walk, but every season it didnt matter who you'd play. They suck WEST RULES!! There is a reason prince trojan got on here and was pretending to be a childish west fan! Thats the way MOST (not all) west fans act!

As do other schools, but west has got to be the worst!

Yes I will root for Ironton all the way to a state title but I can only root for the Burg to Rep Southern Ohio until they play us again if we both win!

I am not in that group and I think alot of west posters are not in that group. We DO have alot of ppl that care about the kids and want to talk good about them, BUT some on here don't know how to and I agree with you on that one. But please don't put us all in that catagory

I didnt say all were like that. I said most (not all) you can put yourself in the most or not all category. Which ever you think you may be in.
