Wheelersburg 38 Jackson 13

Well may as we'll get my 2 cents .
1. Burg is a better football team
2. Jackson played their guts out . With all the seniors they lost last season and 2 all state players from returning class , Jackson has worked their butts off and stayed relevant. They showed a lot of heart by not laying down .
3. The inside was legit . Great execution from burg.
4. This is exactly what wheelersburg needed . A team who would punch them in the mouth a little bit , test them a little bit, make the starters play 4 quarters. This game was closer than 38-13, 2 dropped tds or this could've been 24-21 in the 4th quarter
5. Officiating was typical high school officiating. Pretty even. I will say the 4 official stops to reset the game clock was very suspicious as Jackson was marching down the field . Hmmm
6. Great atmosphere and two programs who respect each other
7. Jacksons band was lights out.
8. Good luck to the burg moving forward .
9. See you in alumni stadium in 2017 !

There were at least three to four holding calls that I saw that were not called. In fact the entire burg side saw it. You just described the officials as being confused and consistent in the same comment. Burg out rushed Jackson in this game and held them to 13 points. Pretty good against those backs, who I thought were tough.

Missed an obvious hold on the play that burg got called for pass interference in 2nd half.

Only way that fake punt is picked off is A if it's a line shot or B the defender is 6 inches taller. He read it because he was the return man and the pass floated 30-40 yards from where it was thrown from. He jumped and reached as far as that dude was reaching honestly if he's 3 inches taller he probably tips the ball up and makes the catch very easy for Jackson WR.

Well you're soooo wrong then because it happened right in front of me darn near. How is a kid supposed to pick off a pass when he's jumped as high as he's going to jump and reaches up as high as he's going to reach?? HE DOESN'T but he blocked the view of the Jackson WR enough to cause the drop

Also I must say for a DV school to have 80 kids out I'm very impressed. Shows the love those kids have for the sport down there that's what makes programs and keeps them top notch year in and year out.

The play Jackson would like to have back would be the drop from their #23 only pass kid dropped all night seemed to have a really nice set of hands. I know the Jackson faithful gasped in disbelief on that play, which led to the fake punt.

Oh he didn't read it wrong at all, he was back there for a punt and watched a pass travel 30-40 yards in the air. You want to say he mistimed his jump then maybe but he was at full stretch and the ball went right over his hands. The Jackson player was behind him as he come FLYING, literally through the air trying to pick it off. Jackson player was standing still didn't have to move.

I'm sure he would've had he not been running backwards for his life as the punt fake didn't fool anyone. That was the play before on a straight go #23 beat the defender on 3rd down but ball went through his hands. #10 dropped 4th down pass on fake
