Really, what would you call this?

"From people that have seen both kids play and keeping in mind that Pat played against a much more talented group when observed by this person, it was told to me that Pat is the better ATHLETE and a much better QB than DR. He is quicker, has better hips, more explosive when need be and the obvious QB skills were glaring to several that saw both play as well as being stronger and having a larger frame condusive to building a stronger body without diminishing speed. Overall a smarter football player and much more versatile."

I don't know much about roback. All I can say is congratulations for his offer. But I simply find it stunning no one in DI has come forward with a solid offer for Pat.

If he is a legit D1 kid they will find him. Although time is running out, hopefully he gets a free education at some level.

From what I understand , Roback has not been recruited as a QB anywhere. Because of his size they all look at him as a TE.

Nobody is speaking ill of Derek that is why this is on the PA thread. All I've heard are good things about DR and his recruitment speaks for itself. I was simply saying that if 2 athletes are comparable to a point that ANYONE knowing anything says PA is better and DR is going to ND and the talk is Pat to a AA or DII then that is not comparable. Just like Derek, I think at the DI level Pat may have to switch positions and has the skill and size to do so but he may also work his way into the QB spot at that level given a chance. Both are great athletes and deserve a chance and both seem to be great kids.

i coached pat and mike both ,couldnt ask for two better young men very smart and of course athletes-pats not big enough for de but could be top notch safety or with out a doubt qb and something that has been asked was why was pat only a qb for 2 years that is because his brother mike was a 3 year starter and never lost a league game in those 3 years -just some facts for people who didnt know.good luck patrick.

I wish him the best. Not many D1 kids get missed, if he should be there they will find him.

Wonder if that will be a question put out there for Logan followers in a couple decades---"what bothers lead Logan through five years of SEOAL play without in defeat?"

Nonetheless, I just think that they need to pay a little bit more attention to students and athletes in their own backyard and feel that they missed out on a good one in Pat. With that being said, OU is a fine school and as I mentioned has a great threesome of head coaches.

I love how even though there are NO other offers it is all Ohio Universities fault!

On a side note, ever stop to think Ohio University is staying away from Logan players after the last one they took simply walked away mid season as a starter and player in the middle of the night? Places get a reputation!

I don't know if Logan has a rep to Solich. He has OU going very strong, was it under Solich that the Logan player left ? It would be a shame if that was a 'rep'.
OU could put themselves in a no lose position if they offer Angle. If he plays, great. I'm sure it would be very popular with more than Logan fans and opponents. All SE Ohioans want to see it. If Angle fails or leaves 'in the middle of the night', OU can still say they held up their end. Its good PR for the football program and the school overall. The school should not be ignoring qualified local students.

If OU still holds a grudge for a kids that was there going on 20 years ago, then that would explain a large part of their problem.

Since that kid "walked out" on OU, Logan has sent 3 kids to Ohio State winning 11 letters, 2 of them were starters on a Rose Bowl Championship team and another was a special teams contributor with 3 pairs of gold pants.

Another kid from Logan OU "passed" on went on to set division II NCAA passing records.

I'm not blaming OU for not recruiting Angle. They make their own decisions, and Solich is doing a nice job.

But your posts is a little bit out of line.

More than out of line -- just blatantly stupid. I could tell you stories of MAJOR problems with kids from Steubenville, Massillon, Canton McKinley, etc and yet............. coaches continue to recruit from the H.S. that had a problem kid. Players are judged on their ability, not on a previous recruit.

One of the dumbest comments made on here yet.

who from logan "walked away" mid season...only player i ever rember going to OU was cosgrove but that wasn't twenty years ago....While Pat is the best QB to ever play at Logan or the SEOAL for that matter bottom line is he isn't D1 material....I don't think many people understand what it takes to play at that level. If he was good enough he would have offers....Time will tell. My bet is he ends up being a solid DII QB......maybe a I AA or whatever they call in now.

Cosgrove was at OU 15 years ago. Notice I said "going on" 20 years.

I would argue that Joey Conrad could have played at the D1 level. Anyone who sets DII NCAA records can usually play at the next level.

klaw.............Angle does have the athletic skill and ability to be D1 talent. At QB, maybe not. He does have the athletic ability and football IQ to contribute in a few positions. I think that when D1 talent is spoken of on here, people automatically have the preconceived notion that D1 means major to semi-major program. There are plenty of D1 schools out there I am sure he could contribute to. However, I don't think that there are any in this area that he fits into their schemes or plans. He will end up somewhere. If the Youngstown State visit is true, lets hope all goes well. They are a solid program and he could possibly get to show his talent against D1 programs since it is becoming more popular for a D1 program to schedule 1-AA schools.
