THANK YOU :122245 my point exactly! Wheelersburg is obviously a good team but when you consistently woof about Ironton this and that and we deserve the same consideration then my response is play the same caliber teams then @ the end of the season compare records but do NOT play the likes of Fairland and Rock Hill and Oak Hill and etc etc and say that you are equal because it is NOT so. Like I have said a couple of times...@ least play Ashland or something. Playing us, Portsmouth and ok West does not give you a pass when you get on here and accuse Ironton of running from Logan or anyone else for that matter. When was the last time Wheelersburg played Logan or Ashland for that matter? Ashland would absolutely be playing up for The Burg because on most years the Tomcats have better deeper talent than the Pirates but ummm...nooooo....let's schedule 1-9 Rock Hill or Fairland or Oak Hill and then boast and bark and accuse Ironton of running from a team and leaving a conference that by all means Wheelersburg would not be able to finish out of the middle to lower end of the pack on any every given season. I am quite sure YOUR AD did not have to run and grab Oak Hill and Rock Hill and Fairland @ the last minute to fill that schedule did he? Ya know this is just wish and speculation but I would LOVE to see a new conference for southern ohio and perhaps kentucky and see if wheelersburg was really interested in " PLAYING UP" as they say. Hmmmmm? :122249

actually i read somewhere that wheelersburg had massilon on their schedule until massilon dropped them and then wheelersburg had to pick up rock hill.... so they were TRYING to play "up".

I hate to break up all the fun that's goin on here, but I just wanted to give a heads-up to all the Wheelersburg fans. The Jackson-Wheelersburg scrimmage is at 7PM tomorrow night. I think it was originally scheduled for 6PM, so I just wanted to make sure everyone knew the correct time.

Have a safe trip up to Jackson. Can't wait to see the Pirates and Ironmen go at it tomorrow night. Always a great test for both teams!

One guy mentions that you guys drop Logan and Burg is consistently woofing about Ironton?

You pretty much started this whole thing with this comment about Fairland and RH!

So drop it and move on! MOST Burg/Ironton fans know the truth and all the crap about scheduling and toughness of teams doesn't get brought up from real fans. Only those who are stirring SH!T up, and wanna be an idiot!

Move On!

Where to start. First off who's rankings are those? I don't know what kind of rankings those are but they kind of look like last yrs. How about posting Div 5 rankings? I would think the burg scheduling someone ranked 8th in a higher div would count as much if not more than scheduling someone ranked 14th in your own Div.

Can you see the future now??? How do you know that nobody on Wheerlersburg schedule won't be ranked this season. I'd be willing to bet the Ironton, Portsmouth, and Portsmouth West will all be in the top 10 of the AP Poll before the season is over and they are all in a higher division. Why don't you just crawl back under the rock you came out from under? Even your own fans are embarrassed by your ignorance.

Hey, maybe you guys will be AP poll champs and can go out and buy the team rings claiming you are "State Champs" like Portsmouth did a few years ago.

AP poll are a joke and always have been. I remember one year Cleve. Ignatius was No. 1 in the country but only No. 2 in the state. What a joke.

As for the Burg's schedule, they are just now able to ge the Fairland's and Rock Hill's back on there schedule after all of those years of having to travel 4 hours to play Martins Ferry or 2 hours to play Ready or West Jefferson because none of the local teams would play them. Just makes more sense to play local teams who will be more inclined to follow there team 30 minutes down the road oppossed to 2 hours somewhere.

Evidently the Burg's schedule has been good enough to get them into the playoffs 22 times over the last 29 years since they first made the playoffs in 1981, the first Scioto County team to do so. Isn't that what you aim for when you start the season? Go 10-0, win your league(oh, that's right, Ironotn dropped out of there league) and make the playoffs. Burg has been pretty consistent in achieving most of those goals over the years.

I would bet good money that if Burg pulls off the "upset"(would have to be considered an upset since Ironton is such a superior team to all others in Southern Ohio) that Bigcarlito will be nowhere to be found on here.

Good luck to both teams this season. Once again, like I've said in the past, we southern ohio teams need to stick together and support each other come playoff because we all know, we get no respect from anyone up North.

I don't think anyone who really knows anything about this game expects a blow out either way. 2 great programs rich in tradition. I will be happy to get out of Ed Miller stadium with a 1 point win. I think Ironton has more talent this year but that is why they play the game. I take the Fighting Tigers 28-14. Good Luck to both teams. Sports Junkie has much respect for Wheelersburg football.

why do you drag Portsmouth in this?
there is plenty of teams that do the same thing.
