Who are the “recruits” on the team this year ?
Zero excuses
Agreed. Burg fans say they have superior coaching & culture and they have a larger enrollment and they recruit but are 1 and 9 vs the 3 best teams on their schedule combined over the past 3 seasons. Burgs at home week 1. No excuses. Absolutely none.

Ironton will have a bigger senior class maybe pushing 20.

@yabbadabbadoo Any other recruits we should be aware of?

I don't know the story on this kid. Was Coach Woodward seen at a NW sporting event with his arm around the young man trying to persuade him to come to Burg? Did he call the kid up on the phone and ask him to come to Burg?

You also do realize that this is just ONE kid coming in, not 13 which is the number I heard ironton is bringing in. How and why do the homegrown kids not get pissed over this? Oh, that's right!! Pendleton's been feeding them the bullshit since 2019 that if we bring these kids in we will win state this year and get you a big ring to wear. Each year the homegrown kids work their butts off in practice and watch the "recruits" play and still yet, they have no rings. Pendleton should probably sell used cars because he's been slinging that BS to those kids for 5 years now.
"The number I heard" 👈 continues his premise based on heresy. Typical seo small town behavior. Smh

I felt bad for the "homegrown" burg kid that lost his pt to the 2 sport portsmouth recruit last year.

Falling short of winning the state? Absolutely!

Of course you get excited just by the fact Ironton gets to step on the field with Burg.

And no, Ironton can’t afford to drop Burg. That game is far too important to them now that they are independent.
Only winning the region and even gettin a chance to compete for a title 5 times in 30 years means 25 years of falling short and failure of the stated goals huh?
How does a coaching staff get labeled "superior" with a stated goal success rate that low?
Because Ironton’s success rate has been zero for almost 35 years!

At least it was only 1 kid not 5-6 every year at Ironton that have lost pt to the recruits coming in. I don't understand how more kids haven't left Ironton over the BS going on up there. Oh, that's right. Ironton staff promises them a state title ring every year and these kids believe it and get be the practice dummies for all the all-stars they are bringing in and yet still have no titles.

Keep drinking that kool-aid up there. Lot of these kids could be good players for other schools but keep getting brainwashed year after year.

Let’s not forget Copas from NW is at Ironton, not sure which back left but I’m sure they left because of NW in SOC 2 play and West is loaded in the backfield, Trojans are set. Valley and Minford both have their guy as well. Burg and Waverly probably the 2 teams with the most open competition at RB.

Yup. Burg fans are so down bad they make up scenarios to make em feel better. Lol. Thats what happens when ya post a 1 and 9 combined record vs ya best 3 opponents combined over the last 3 seasons. Gotta capitulate and cop some kinda plea. 😂

Ironton has won the region and been to states more over the last 7 seasons than burg has in programs history. Those 2017 fumes aint gonna lace and pad up for burg week 1. Tick tock. No excuses.

So again, their success rate has been zero since 1989! Zero!!

Unless winning the state is not the goal of Ironton. Is that what you are saying? Ironton only cares about the region? Not interested in state titles?

If so, that explains 35 years of failure.

You have to win the region in order to get an opportunity to even compete for a state title so as a programs tranjectory goes considering Ironton & burg, Ironton has met THAT intermediate goal more times in just the LAST 7 seasons than burg has in 3 decades because burg has only been able to do it like 5 times in the last 30 years.

Furthermore. IRONTONS 2 titles were earned in the aame decade. 79 - 89 against stiffer competition in a higher division than burg has ever competed in.
Ironton owns burg head to head all time
And under Pendleton have doubled up on burg in head to head in wins.
Burg was never in contention to ever be considered as a seo program equal to Ironton. They were just a cheap replacement during that TINY window post lutz and pre pendleton. All theyve ever really been. Glorified Fairland level program in Irontons colors.

Burg’s goals are:
- Win SOC
- Earn home field playoff games in playoffs
- Win state

Nowhere does Burg state “our goal is to fall short of state.” That might be Ironton’s goal, but not Burg’s.

As for 79-89, Ironton was a bigger school. Although they often were in the same division during those years. Burg went smaller when divisions were increased. But Ironton was the better program then.

Now, since Ironton is in the same division with Burg every year, Ironton can’t win the big prize. Not since 1989!! Ironton has dropped down in weight class, yet no success.

Again, doing less with more since 1989!

There have not been 5-6 players a year “brought in” or transferring in. If so, name them. That’s a made up number.

There is no evidence that the coaching staff is telling any kids to stay so they can win a ring. It sounds like something someone dumb would make up.

You post a lot about a team that isn’t your rival! Shouldn’t you be more concerned with West and Minford?

Five or six a year would be 20 or more on the team. You’re a few short.

Is the “Ashland” guy really talking recruiting? You had a coach busted on tape.

Ironton’s CB is over 20 which doesn’t even include those that moved in. So again, yabba may be close.

That’s not how CB works, which you know.

Again, shouldn’t you guys be more worried about West and Waverly? They can impact your goals!
