I like the chances to get 3 yards with that offense. Keep improving, one loss means nothing.

Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
I'm from Muskingum County and I have never seen an Ironton game in person. I was not making excuses. I just was stating I thought a lot of the Canada North players were older. If I remember correctly, when they played Zanesville a few years ago, Zanesville won. And it was not a loaded Zanesville team.
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
The below statement comes from Clarkson North Secondary school and you can see JV consists of kids in 9th and 10th and you will also see that kids have to apply and be accepted and literally train all year round
Football North (clarksonfootballnorth.ca)
► Peel board, Football North build on partnership to introduce junior varsity prep team for grade 9, 10 students
The Football North preparation (prep) program will field a junior varsity team, along with a varsity team. The prep program is offered at Clarkson Secondary School in Mississauga and geared towards high-performing student athletes who train year-round in football.
"Football North has committed themselves to the Clarkson Secondary School community through sports infrastructure at the school, community-building and professional development for all Peel board football coaches."We're excited to build on the existing partnership and continue the success for all students and staff involved."
The Peel District School Board entered into a partnership agreement with Football North to offer a first-of-its-kind football prep program, offered in a Canadian public school. Since its inaugural year, more than 100 top high school football players from across and outside of Ontario have been selected by Football North to be a part of the program, with many of the students receiving university scholarships for football in Canada and the United States.
"Football North ensures our student-athletes get a world-class football and educational experience, already enabling some to get scholarships from top schools like Syracuse, Hawaii, Maine, Western, and more, "The junior varsity program will provide the best year-round football training and academic support. Multiple years of competing against the top high school programs in North America will be a difference maker for these student-athletes. "
Applications to the Football North prep program are not being accepted through the Peel board or through Clarkson. Families/Players must contact Football North directly to learn more about their recruitment process, which they run independently. Students who are accepted into the Football North prep program will be registered as students at Clarkson. For more information and to apply for the prep program, visit www.clarksonfootballnorth.ca.

Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Ironton isn’t young by any means. They have a big senior class with a few hold backs in that class. So mature wise Ironton could compete if Clarkson did have some older players.
The only advantage Ironton had was overall they were much faster than Clarkson and they have arguably the best player on the field.
Other than that Clarkson was much better than the score indicated. If Clarkson played sound football, Ironton would probably have been beat by at least three touchdowns.
But that’s ok. Game meant nothing in the grand scheme of their goals. It was a challenge and they played very well. Could have stole it.

Spot on, teams have off nights. I’m sure Wheelersburg is thrilled to at least competed with Harvest Prep, but the truth is prep had an off night. Probably right. Burg is solid team this year but not a favorite as a regional contender. They are a good enough team to upset someone.Larry Fine wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 8:43 amSpot on, teams have off nights. If the Clarkson team was based in Ohio they would be a division 4 school not all that much bigger than ironton or Burg and about the same size of Waverly but I'm not saying that they wasn't good in football but their not the world beaters everyone though they wastigerpride wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 6:32 amGoBigI wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 3:33 pm IMG of Canada? 21 year olds? Wonder what that says about a conference who has a 6 and 4 champ?

They would not be division 4. There are 750 kids in Clarkson North Secondary School. If you go by enrollment they would most likely be D2. But it's a little more complicated than that. Their football team isn't really a "High School" Team. The players are brought in from across Canada to play prep ball. Clarkson North is just the school they get their education from. Think Huntington Prep basketball team going to school Huntington St Joe. If based in Ohio it would be hard to tell where OHSAA would place them. But with kids coming from hundreds off miles away their competitive balance numbers would probably be in the two hundreds if not more.Jawnjkang98 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 3:18 pmWhats the enrollment? The point is these young men was big and fast and played well they gave Martinsburg all they wanted a few years ago before falling to them.
It's even crazier to think their head coach was the coach of the Toronto Argonauts last year.
So Clarkson is a team that knows what direction they want to go and Ironton played them well yes they got beat but it was a great showing on Ironton's part.
Will they play again in the future only one person knows the answer to that and that is coach Pendleton but this will pay rewards for Ironton in the long run as they look to improve their scheduling.
Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Harvest Prep is also a prep school. We have to get through Harvest Prep almost on a yearly basis to win the region. This team is not the juggernaut people are making it out to be. Ironton loses one game and excuses come flying from all directions. It’s a single loss, move on to the next game. I have a feeling that other Prep team will be waiting in the near future.WinnerWinner wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 5:51 pmThey would not be division 4. There is a lot of hate in this world today that's what's wrong. I sat there and watched the whole game and when it comes down to decision like that you don't "ask" 16, 17,18, year old kids that question because of course their emotions are gonna take over and not do the right thing! You're a coach at a "great" program you should know what to do in that situation.TigerFella wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 11:48 amWildly hate comments like this, it was even stated he asked the kids if they wanted to go for two to win and they all agreed. Re: Clarkson North Cananda @ (5-0) Ironton
Ironton accomplished what they needed to accomplish. They had to play a hard 4 quarters of football. Why take a chance of an injury for little to no gain?
We can agree and/or disagree all we want. The call was correct because the coach made the call.
