With all due respect, your nuts.ML isn’t a small school in football, only in school size. They have as many players as 90% of the schools in Ohio.RBH23 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 7:16 pmThat’s sad that you are bragging about possibly playing ML, a great program but a small one. Burg played home games against Coldwater and Kenton back in the late 90’s. Nothing new about getting schools like this on the schedule.798924 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 4:23 pmAnd meanwhile, as Ironton is trying to schedule Marion Local, Softburg is trying to run away from competitive programs in their own region.798924 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 4:20 pm
I keep my analysis factual.
Wheelersburg football has only made it past their region 4 times in over 40 years.
Wheelersburg is 1 & 16 vs Ironton, Jackson, & Harvest Prep combined over the last four seasons.
Ironton jammed a running clock down Softburgs throat, not once, but twice in 2024, for a combined final score of 92 to 7.
It took wheelersburg football their entire programs history to match the 79 and 89 state titles Ironton accumulated under Lutz in ten seasons.
And now Ironton has three and enroute to their 3rd title, embarrassed Softburg 55 to 0 in the playoffs.
The comparsion of these two programs is and always will be ridiculous.
Softburg is and always will be the envious and mouthy little sister that cant really hang.
92 to 7
Comparing Ironton & burg is an insult to Ironton.
92 to 7
What’s changed is that Lutz never would have played such schools; definitely wouldn’t be on the phone begging them for games. Too small for the Ironton teams of the 70’s and 80’s. Things have definitely changed.
Seems like mostly if not all Burgers doing this. I read somewhere that Ironon lives rent free in the Burgers’ heads. Seems pretty accurate.FIDO wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:01 pm To diminish a state championship in any sport is so sophomoric. The kids playing, and giving their time, deserve more from adults on a stupid sports site. It makes me wonder if some ever played the game of football. If so, you wouldn't be so quick to undermine the sustained excellence

True, but so did Newark Catholic back in the day. Lutz still wasn’t calling them for a game. Just different times.artisgilmore wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 11:59 amWith all due respect, your nuts.ML isn’t a small school in football, only in school size. They have as many players as 90% of the schools in Ohio.RBH23 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 7:16 pmThat’s sad that you are bragging about possibly playing ML, a great program but a small one. Can i see that trophy for giving up the most points to Ironton in the series history?
