I'm really not trying to start something, but when Athens leaves after this year they have been ridiculed, even though they too have said it was economical. Now, Ironton is leaving and that is okay. I agree that the cost of travel is outrageous but why is it okay for Ironton and not Athens?

I agree. If Ironton wants to leave ........................theres the door.

What sports did they not field in the SEOAL :?:

No soccer or wrestling for sure and maybe a few more like bowling and gymnastics! ;-) :)

2old,

You know that I couldn't care less if you continue to antagonize everyone on here until you are blue in the face, but I do want to make one thing clear and that is that Logan does NOT bully Jackson! I don't have the exact numbers here in front of me but I do know that the overall series between Jackson and Logan is very close to being even. The last ten games played between the two teams have resulted in 5 wins for Jackson and 5 wins for Logan. Jackson trails Logan by just 2 for all time SEOAL football titles. I just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware of these facts.

Junkie, if you want to knw something priceless it would be Ironton ever beating Logan again. You guys are way too easy to beat.

Hilltop, man i appreciate you improving the Cavs. I hope the Cavs are much tougher next year. Good intense football is much more fun to watch than watching the JV playing against Gallia and Ironton on Friday night.

They dont bully Ironton either. They are 5-16 versus Ironton. See 2old only deals in facts that make his chiefs look good. So if you gotta any facts that disprove his points he will try to spin it his own way. When the bottom line is Logan has had a good run the past few years, but overall they are at the bottom of the pile looking up.

Going back to Logan being a bully in the league I found some interesting stats.

Logan is 46-29-5 vs Athens
3-5 vs Chili
36-36-1 vs Gallia
5-15 vs Ironton
39-36-2 vs Jackson
20-5 vs Marietta
1-3 vs Portsmouth
18-3 vs Warren
7-8 vs Zanesville.

So by the numbers we can see the only teams they truly bully is the ones most would expect them to bully Athens, Warren, and Marietta. Therest of the league holds their own pretty well except the Tigers who dominate Logan.

I think Logan-Jackson-Gallia Academy all have been more or less even with each other over time. My main concern with the SEOAL is the fact that several schools continue to lose enrollment as time goes on. Logan has always been the biggest school, but I am willing to bet that 10-20-30 years ago, schools like Ironton and Gallia Academy had many more students then they have today, so back in those days the size mismatch was not as lopsided as it is today. I think it will be hard for Ironton and Gallia to have a long winning streak against Logan in the future with such a large size difference. Ironton and Gallia are still losing students too, so the size difference will most likely increase in the future. That is my main concern. I'm not saying Ironton, Gallia, or Portsmouth will not have a winning streak against Logan, it just makes it that much more difficult to have one with a large difference in enrollment like that is all I'm saying.

a. Correction one, Here is the record between the Chillicothe CAVS verses the Logan Chieftians.

Chillicothe 5-4 over Logan

1. 1990 At Logan (Chillicothe 17-Logan 6) Win :-D

2. 1991 At Chillicothe (Chillicothe 0-Logan 13) Loss

3. 1993 At Logan (Chillicothe 60-Logan 28 ) Win :-D

4. 1994 At Chillicothe (Chillicothe 40-Logan 21) Win :-D

5. 2003 At Logan (Chillicothe 0-Logan 9 ) Loss

6. 2004 At Chillicothe (Chillicothe 29-Logan 28 ) Win :-D

7. 2005 At Logan (Chillicothe-23-Logan 29) Loss

8. 2006 At Chillicothe (Chillicothe 31-Logan 21) Win :-D

9. 2007 At Logan (Chillicothe 15-Logan 47) Loss

In week 2 the Cavaliers traveled to Logan to play the last time at Bill Sauer Field. The Chieftains, led by a powerful offense and excellent special teams play , jumped out early and cruised to a 47-18 win. While the victory appears lopsided I might throw in that Chillicothe had 458 yards of total offense while Logan totaled 455 yards. Field position, special teams play, turnovers, and dropped passes spelled doom for the Cavs. Chillicothe was inside the 20 to the 10, 7 times and came out with no score.

b. Correction two. Logan defeated Portsmouth in 2006 and 2007. I don't know the over all record between the two schools though.

Respectfully

ARMY

I'll take a stab at the question for Juke boxer, even though I don't believe he "needs any help from me".

The answer to that question is never. DI could be considered "real" football by some folks but I believe that is a pretty narrow view. Ironton has vindicated themselves well with in their Division throuhgout the years and I believe they will continue to do so in the future.

I have a question or 2 back for you. Who is the "biggest" program that Logan has either played or attempted to schedule? I know for a fact that recently (within the last 10 years) there were contracts sitting in Ironton and Massillion ready to be signed to fill up each teams schedule until both teams found what ended up being considered a better game. Would Logan or has Logan ever tried or considered signing a contract to play one of the permier DI teams in the history of Ohio football?

I am sure that a few phone calls could be made between the Logan AD and a few teams like Cincy St X, Moeller, Elder, Colrain, Massillion, Canton McKinley, Warren G Harding, Cleveland St Ignaisis and a game could be scheduled. Maybe even Columbus DeSales, Stuebenville Big Red, Mentor Lake Catholic, Kettering Alter, Dayton C-J or Yongstown Cardinal Mooney would have an opening for a Logan but since you don't consider them "real" football you probably wouldn't want to schedule them.

you have to be careful who you schedule when you are in a situation like logan. one loss usually means that you miss the playoffs if you are logan in d1. someone else may know better but didnt logan go undefeated one year and missed the playoffs? not sure on that one.

2old, you are really showing everyone how smart you are not.
1) To win a Div. 1 playoff game, you have to be a Div. 1 team. duh
2) Ironton has never been Div. 1, duh
3) Logan can't even win a Div. 2 playoff game, duh
4) You brag about beating Div. 3 and 4 schools
5) You would like to go back to Div. 1, That is very funny
6) Logan, Div. 2 wanna bees

THEY GET SMACKED UP BUT THEY MADE IT :!:

My bad Army I took that off Logans website I dont think it has this season counte din.

There you go 2old trying to weave the facts your own way when they show without a shadow of a doubt that Logan only bullies the weak teams.
