Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
There is no question that Ironton has played a stronger schedule so far this season. However, NY has played a strong schedule as well, which is evident by NY's ranking in second level points in Region 19. I think Ironton benefits from having played the likes of Logan and Chillicothe. That is one thing I miss about the NY/Logan game. Even though Logan won in most years, NY was usually pretty solid the rest of the season because that was our one true measuring stick. When NY won that game, all of Nelsonville knew that the season would be a very special season!
Just for fun, I checked Calpreps.com to see how NY would have stacked up against the SEOAL this year since Calpreps is pretty accurate in their predictions. Calpreps would have had NY going 5-4 in the SEOAL this season.
Five wins:
NY 27 Gallia Academy 24
NY 28 Jackson 22
NY 31 Marietta 28
NY 22 Portsmouth 14
NY 24 Warren 14
Four losses:
Logan 40 NY 7
Ironton 35 NY 13
Chillicothe 34 NY 13
Zanesville 27 NY 17
I think the size disadvantage for NY really comes into play with some of those matchups.

I would like to see some intensity from the start of the game. We have not played well on the road. Maybe this week if possible we should receive the opening kickoff and put our offense out there. We didn't start playing last week till the big return and this team gets down when they get behind. Let's get the lead and keep it.

oh yeah, heres some kicking team advice, keep it away from #26, well on second thought, go ahead, kick it to him =]
Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
I agree...if we could get started from the gun..we shouldn't have any problem scoring alot of points...if lutz would get the ball to Lamb for about ten plays a night...it would be a whole different team...he does a heck of a job catching the ball...that would open up the run and help even with the long pass to morris...just don't understand why that hasn't been an option thus far...he reminds me of joe leith in the way he plays...joe used to cut across the middle for about ten or 15 and it would open up the run...I have heard that most teams are double teaming him...but it can't be every time...all I see is most teams lining up ten in the box...and us saying you can't stop us...usually that is right...but it won't be once we go deeper in the playoffs...we will need to open things up....hope to see it...that would make for a long night for some teams the next couple of weeks....go tigers.....

I love my Buckeyes! Missed the game last week but watched it on Channal 15! Nelsonville needs to show up and play at this game I think they can win but they have to play hard for all 4 quarters! Sometimes Nelsonville is more a 2nd half team this will be a good game.....I'm still picking my Buckeyes I have lots of faith in those boys!
GO BUCKS!!!!!!

Looks like the weather will be cooperating with temps in the lower 50s to upper 40s by games end with a 10% chance of precipitation........the Prune Juicers will be in attendance........good luck to both teams with an injury free game and looking forward to seeing the new stadium.......

Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
This should be a great game. Despite all this talk about the SEOAL vs. TVC and all this other crap it all boils down to a few basic facts.
#1. Both teams have a rich history and are perennial contenders to make a deep playoff run. Id say most fans were very excited to learn this game had been set up.
#2. If Ironton holds onto the ball it could be a long night for the Buckeyes.
#3. If both sides of the line come to play like they have the past few games no one can beat Ironton.
#4. If Ironton lets Nelsonville York stay close they have the opportunity to beat us. A team like this is very dangerous for the Tigers. We need to jump on them early and often. If we let them hang around till the 3rd and 4th quarters they have a really good chance of beating us.

Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
The o-line and D-line have had a real good week of practice, the team finally seems to grasp just what's on the table in this weeks game.
Look for the Tigers to come out fired up and ready to hit some people, like i stated in an earlier post, this team is just now hitting their stride and will be hard to stop on either side of the ball.
The stats will start to show just how talented this team really is, offensively and defensively.

Re: WEEK 9 ~ IRONTON @ NELSONVILLE-YORK
well koondogger guess wat the orange and brown buckeyes are gonna pull a massive upset and destroy ironton in a game that arnold scores at least 3tds yea ironton has the big Dline but i dont think they have enough speed to contain Arnold but if they key on him we still have major weapons like Markie Campell, Josh Dickerson, and Chance Fox

That was the score of the Trimble vs NY game in 1981 when NY won the State Championship.
