I think West can and will win Friday. I hope I'm wrong, but for those who think we are going to dominate Ready Friday I think they're going to be dissapointed. Ready has playoff experience, good players, good coaching, and they play a great schedule. They are a catholic school in a big city, and you know what that means, legalized recruiting. They lost alot of seniors from last years team, but they just reload and it will take West's best game of the year to beat them; especially with a player out who because of others being really good, does not get the credit he may be due. In a perfect world, week 12 is not the time to be changing approaches and altering your normal gameplan. West needs to use this, the upstate bias, and the fact that few out of the surrounding area are going to give them any chance of winning; as motivation to go up there Saturday and take it to them.

I too think some of our fans go to extremes in what they say on these sights. Maybe I do too sometimes. What I don't want to see is overconfidence by the fans and players to the point that they think they can't loose, while still expecting to win. That way if we go up there saturday and get down early, that we don't panic. That is one fear of mine about this team, that they have never been down. How will they react? As fans we need to go up there Saturday and get the place rockin. If we do and the guys play to there potential, Ready and the rest of the state will be surprised at what they see.

I know that Alfie can throw the ball, but the problem is that he has not had to throw much this season as no team in the SOC could stop their running game. But with 1 RB out, that puts more carries on the other 2, which can wear on a high school RB during the course of a game against a very good defense. They need to be able to establish a running game and also take some shots against Ready. West is a very good clock management offense, so their offense will be their best defense if they can sustain drives and get points off them.

I think this will be a nail biter.

Good luck from Minford this weekend. I think if West can get by Ready, state tournament, here they come.

8) i'm tellin' you guys, you're not giving a very talented athlete much credit... [ perry ] and that bugs me... this kid can play !!!! he's a senior,he's tough, smart, and has an overwhelming desire to win...not to mention he is a very unselfish team oriented player..i know him, i've coached him, and would love to have a whole team just like him.... GO WESTSIDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

true, but its not the problem. The route running, getting open, throwing, and catching of the ball aren't the problem. The problem is protecting the qb. Teams cannot play straight up and stop the run. So they are stacking so many people in the box and usually bring a LB or 2 on run blitzes that we can't protect the qb. 5 can't block 6 or 7. As long as this is the case, and it is a good problem because teams are conceding that they can't stop you without taking chances, West is either going to have to stick to what got them here or become much more creative with the passing game.

I could see more passing out of the pistol/gun, after they've run the read option a few times. What I think they need to do is run more slants, quick routes. Too much of our passing game this year has been too far down the field. That stuff works against NW but not against a good team who like I said is selling out to make the negative play against the run.

I really can't beleive that NOBODY on the other "site" is giving west any credit or a chance to win. Oh don't bother posting over there cause the powers that be keep deleting 3/4ths the post.
GOOD LUCK WEST...PROVE THEM ALL WRONG!!!!!!!!!

Not suprising... Southern Ohio might as well be in another state. Never get any credit on the puddle. That is why most Burg posters never get on there anymore. IMO Ready will be a tough challenge for West but at this point every game presents a challenge.

Good Luck West!

This is THE test for the Side, West is nasty and BR is stout. Good luck! Maybe an OT playoff game? How often does that happen?

hammerdown: the Huddle just doesn't have many posters anymore from southern Ohio. But that's probably a good thing for SEOPS as this place has exploded in popularity over the last few years. If I remember right, the Ironton posters led the exodus from the Huddle in 2005 due to their biased coverage of the state basketball tournament.

As for this game, good luck to West. Winner of this game wins the Region in my opinion.*

West should win this one as long as they dont fall apart...They have demonstrated that they can keep their composure in a big time game...the Wheelersburg game should pay dividends in the long run...unless they lose to my Pirates next week ;-) That is to say that they both win

Good luck to the Senators or Siders or whatever you call yourselves these days :)

madd dog I did not no that you hated west so bad that you would actually go on here and slam us like that.
I still hope for burg to win and WEST also for a rematch that "you" want or maybe you dont, in a good environment, If this does happen WEST would still win the region.
so I actually understand why you would rather play someone other than WEST in that game
