Just repeating somethings that I have heard from both sides of the fence, but you can have your own view. Who knows maybe you are right but only time will tell.

To quote out of context...
and I say . . . segregation today . . . segregation tomorrow . . . segregation forever.

I thought the students at Southwestern Elementary would now make the choice going into their 7th grade year instead of the start of 9th grade?

Some interesting conversation these last couple pages.
IMO, not that anyone is interested, SW should be a feeder to River Valley. If any students choose to go to South Gallia they should then provide their own transportation.
The reopening of HT should have been for that area only.
Can't wait to see how this one plays out.

From my house on St. Rt. 141-31 miles to RV, 14 to SG
New building 17 to RV, 14 SG, 8 GA
Draw the line or make it mandatory to go to one or the other, both lose. There will be people on both sides of this disagree with me about this. The cost of the shuttle bus is less or nothing when compared to the kids that will leave the district and the money that will follow them.

Re: OVC '09
There was no possible answer that would have pleased everybody. I kind of agree with what Raiderball said ...
.. but then the question becomes, "Would there have ever been a new high school down there?" based just on the Hannan Trace attendance area?
Additionally, everybody used to talk about how little sense it made to have a high school all the way out at the end of Gallia County, and then wouldn't you know it, we have built a new school at the OTHER end of the county!
At this point, the powers-that-be need to just need to read the parable about "trying to please everybody and losing your own arse."
For the GCLSD, it's now about damage control based on the decisions that have already been made. They are going to lose kids; at this point, a good executive will figure out what needs to be done to lose the least number of kids.

Boy, I wish I had a map with all these schools on it so I could see what the dispute was. . . I love these Gallian gossip sessions.
What about the River Valley football team? What starters are coming back?

Although I do not know much about this topic other than what I have read, why doesn't the county school district allow South Gallia to become its own district? Seems like that would make the most logical sense....IMO

Hey Grover you can go on back down to Sesame Street now. Hang out with Big Bird and the gang.
