=COACH OF THE YEAR-OHIO DIVISION= (CO)
ATHENS-RYAN ADAMS (9-1) & ALEXANDER-SEAN ARNO (8-2)
It is only fitting that in a year of some crazy finishes, great games and even Co-Champions, that it would fair to not only award one coach, but two for their tremendous jobs this season. Both of these choices share a similar feat of accomplishments, both took a team that had seen struggles in the past, and turned both into winners. Both coaches had taken a (4-6) team the year before, and gotten them to (9-1) and (8-2) respectively. For Adams, his Bulldogs earned a share of the TVC-Ohio Championship this season by going (5-1) in League play. For Arno, his Spartans earned their 1st-ever Play-Off Berth in school History. Both coaches would be quick to give all praise to their Coaching Staffs and Players, but for today, I'd like to give a little bit back to both commanders of each respected program ...
=COACH OF THE YEAR-HOCKING DIVISION=
TRIMBLE-PHIL FAIRES (6-4)
Do not let the overall record fool you, what Faires was able to do this season just goes to show how great of a High School Coach he is and how much his players believe in him. For the Tomcats, they had to witness a season that started out very much differently in their history, filled with losses, instead of the usual wins. What makes Faires effort this season, is that he was able to get his players to focus on the goals that could still be achieved, and that was still being able to capture yet another TVC-Hocking Championship. Although the Tomcats failed to make the postseason, they will be happy with another Hocking Crown, and will be very happy that People still remember that Hocking Championship goes through Trimble...
=OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR - OHIO DIVISION= (CO)
ATHENS-TREY HARRIS-(Jr.-QB) & NELSONVILLE-YORK-DEREK ARNOLD-(Sr.-RB)
Keeping with the (CO) trend in the Ohio Division, the Offensive Player of the Year goes to two players who were very huge to their respected teams successes. Harris, the Junior signal caller for Athens led the very potent Athens Offensive Attack that saw the Dogs score (314), while he tossed 16 Touchdowns & racking up 1162 Yards through the air, both * All League Highs. Arnold, the Senior workhorse for the Buckeyes was Mr. Everything for NY this season. Arnold scored 16 Touchdowns, while racking up 1,307 Yards on the Ground. What makes Arnold's numbers impressive is that Derek was responsible for (96) of the (131) points the NY Offense scored this season, and his (1,307) yards are more than half of what the NY Offense recorded. Great season's by two of the TVC's Best Players this season...
=OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR - HOCKING DIVISION=
TRIMBLE-TYLER DYLA-(Jr.-RB)
After achieving such accolades as All-Ohio, and TVC-Hocking Champion, one might be headed for a slump the following season. However, that was not the case for Trimble's All-Star Tailback, who picked up where he left off just the season before. Dyla was the only Hocking Division RB to amass over 1,000 yards rushing on the season. His 1,400 Yards were good enough to put him on top of the entire TVC League. Dyla also added 9 Touchdowns on the ground and 3 receiving. Dyla's future is looking real bright, and Trimble is proud to have one of the best backs in the Southeastern Ohio Region ...
=DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR - OHIO DIVISION=
ATHENS-ATHENS DEFENSE
It would be impossible to single out one player on this unit. Instead, I decided to give them all the DPOY. The Athens Defense only allowed (60) points on the season, while holding opponents to (1,566) total yards, both League Best. The Athens Defense put (4) Shut-Outs under their belts this season shutting out SEOAL's Gallia Academy, and 3 TVC-Ohio foes (Vinton County, Wellston and Belpre). The Bulldogs Tenacious D was a force this season not allowing most of their opponents much success, and a lot of that had to do with the powerful frontline the Dogs had. They deserve a lot of the credit for the Bulldogs success, and it was a great way for Senior's Frank Valentour, Vinnie Ryder, Douglas Chapman, John Keener, Joey Stanley, Tyler White, Reed Anderson, Conner Tope, Mike Martin, Robby Glass,Nick Proctor, Joey Young, Eric Conway and Shad McCollum to go out...
=DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR - HOCKING DIVISION=
TRIMBLE-TRIMBLE DEFENSE
Keeping with the trend of rewarding units, I saw it fit to give the DPOY to the Trimble Unit. The Tomcats Defense only allowed (127) points, most coming from non-league games, while holding opponents to (1,975) total yards. The Tomcats Defense recorded (2) Shut-Outs (Waterford & Federal Hocking) and didn't allow more then 13 points to any league opponent with holding Miller to (13), Eastern to (7) and Southern to (6). Stingy could be a word to describe the Tomcats Defensive Attack. They as a unit, deserve a lot of credit for Trimble's successes down the stretch, and deserve the DPOY for the Hocking Division...
=SPECIAL TEAMS OF THE YEAR - OHIO & HOCKING DIVISION=
ATHENS-ATHENS SPECIAL TEAMS
This was the only joint award that involve both Divisions. Thanks to huge returns by Shad McCollum, DeVon Sharp and Ian Dixon, the Athens Bulldogs scored several Kick Return and Punt Return Touchdowns. Also a key to the success in Athens this Fall, were how these return men would set up Athens Offense with short fields, and quick scores, both a key to winning ball games. These return men were the reason Athens Special Teams walked away with the award this season...
=STADIUM OF THE YEAR - OHIO DIVISION=
ATHENS- R. BASIL R. FIELD, THE PLAINS
An atmosphere that had not been seen in Athens for years returned this season thanks in part to Big Games, Great Teams and tons of hard work and preperation. Athens big-wigs should be thanking the Football Gods for this season as they got to play host to Meigs/Alexander & NY while also hosting Belpre. Those were 4 big gates for Athens, with the two biggest being Alexander @ Athens and Nelsonville-York @ Athens, both games being very vital to the Ohio Football Championship. The Fans packed the stands, and the track and Athens should be thanking the grounds crew for the best job I'd ever seen the Athens Field look like. R. Basil R. Field was the place to be this year for the Ohio Divisions best games ...
=STADIUM OF THE YEAR - HOCKING DIVISION=
TRIMBLE- GLOUSTER STADIUM, GLOUSTER
The usual suspect when it comes to great games in the TVC Hocking, Glouster Stadium played host to what turned out to be the TVC-Hocking Championship between Southern and Trimble. One of the toughest places to play in the entire TVC, Trimble used this advantage in going (3-0) in League play. One of the oldest stadiums in the area, the Atmosphere in Glouster is one you have to experience in person to understand. The Tomcats again showed opponents why it is hard to win in Glouster winning all 3 league games they hosted at home, and taking NY down to the wire in a (6-7) defeat. Also vaunting about Trimble is the fan support, in which they flood from the streets to support their beloved Tomcats...
=GAME OF THE YEAR- OHIO DIVISION=
NELSOVILLE-YORK @ ATHENS
The Buckeyes came into the game rare underdogs in the series history thanks to a suprising defeat the Week before at the hands of the Alexander Spartans. The Bulldogs came into the game undefeated, and could have earned a share of the TVC-Ohio Title with a victory. What made this game even more interesting is that both teams desperatly needed a WIN to have a shot at a Play-Off Berth. Athens dominated the 1st half of play scoring 13 to lead (13-0) in what look to be a rout of their Ohio Rival. Instead, The Buckeyes returned in the 2nd half, forcing 3 key Bulldog turnovers and played a much better ball game then they did in the 1st half. NY would score, and kick the go ahead extra point with .44 seconds left on the clock and a (14-13) lead. Athens would return the ball to set up some last chance plays that saw Athens either trying a game winning 41 yard Field Goal, or throwing up a prayer. Athens heaved a pass into the corner of the endzone that would fall through the hands of a Bulldog, which gave the Buckeyes a hard earned road win, and a share of the TVC-Ohio Crown, and not to mention the rights to the Doc Kroner Trophy yet again...
=GAME OF THE YEAR - HOCKING DIVISION=
SOUTHERN @ TRIMBLE
It had the hype, it had everybody talking. It was supposed to be Trimble's toughest Hocking foe invading Glouster Stadium. Southern came into the game very much alive in the Play-Off talk, and with a Win could have given themselves a chance at a share of the TVC-Hocking Championship. Trimble, the big bad wolf of the Hocking Division huffed, and puffed away the Tornadoes chances routing Southern (47-6), in a game many thought would be close. This game marked another Championship for the Tomcats under Coach Faires, and showed the rest of the TVC-Hocking why year in and year out the Tomcats are the Team to Beat...
=GAME OF THE YEAR - TVC vs. TVC= (CO)
NELSOVILLE-YORK @ TRIMBLE& TRIMBLE@ ALEXANDER
Who could have asked for any better of games between not only TVC foes, one from each respected Division, but from Athens County Rivals as well. The NY/Trimble game saw an Offensive Struggle, a Defensive Battle and a Special Teams game changing moment that had both respected fan bases on their toes and holding their breathes. Trimble lead the entire game, but it was NY who would walk away victorious after rallying late to score a TD, and then the extra point for the (7-6) contest. The Trimble/ALX game saw an Offensive Explosion, a Defensive Struggle and a Special Teams game changing moments that had both fans bases on their heals the entire night. This game saw both teams score (5) TD's apiece, but the decider in the contest came in the kicking game for Alexander and the fact that Trimble had been struggling with extra points. Alexander would earn the victory, a huge win for them to the tune of (35-33)...
=FANS OF THE YEAR - TVC=
TRIMBLE FANS, ALEXANDER FANS, NELSONVILLE-YORK FANS & ATHENS FANS
The support these (4) Programs received throughout the year is why kids love to play sports. The feeling of playing in front of large fan-filled seats, or big games that draw many fans is amazing an can not be achieved without the support of all the fans who attended the games. To look for the best tailgaiting section in TVC Football, look no further then these (4) Fans Sections. Also, two of the most powerful money making clubs can be found possible do to fans, and support and those were the Buckeye Bash and the Bulldog Blitz. Also, one thing that set these fans apart from the rest of the pack this season was the amount of fans support each team brought with them to away contest. There is nothing more opposing then looking into the away section and seeing them filled with your opponents fans. One last note about the fans, Athens was responsbile for having a fan who created the great trivalleyconference.com page dedicated to TVC Sports, and had WOUB filming games. However, it is NY's Greatest Fan Joe Edwards Cable Station that went to all the games and filmed them for those fans who could not make certain trips during the season. It's that fan support, that has made the TVC a great place to be. Great season, and a lot of praise to all the fans who daunted the 10 week season...
THE FINAL WORDS ON THE SEASON
It was a great season...I hope everyone enjoyed the Power Poll for the Ten Weeks, and I hope to do it again next season with a better system, but just as much fun as I had doing it. Good Luck to all the TVC Teams in the Offseason and Good Luck to the Alexander Spartans in next weeks Play-Off Game ... You have the Support of an entire League behind you!!!

I noticed today after posting that the stats were only through week nine and that Week Ten statistics were not updated yet on trivalleyconference.com, but I'm sure 93Bulldog is working hard to get his awesome site updated, and as soon as he does I'll update...
To just make a comment nybucks70-80-
Derek Arnold is a huge factor in why the Buckeyes were TVC-Ohio Champions...
Trey Harris is a huge factor in why the Bulldogs were TVC-Ohio Champions...
I simply chose to give it to two players I thought were outstanding this season, and gave their teams that little edge over the opponent...
It will be a hard decision for the people who choose the POY's as there were many very talented players and teams this season...

If there was a 3 way tie for first, sure you would have to share the tittle.
When both teams go 5-1 the deciding factor should be head to head.
NY beats Athens ,Then the Bucks are the outright champs.
Go ahead Bullpups, enjoy your shared title...You know who the best team in the league is ....................................The NY Buckeyes
if you were the best team in the league you would've beat alexander. this tie really does represent the TVC this year, especially since the head to head game was decided by a penalty and an extra point

Hey Super Fresh-
Not tryin' to leave anyone out, but it was easy to see that the 4 Best Teams in the entire TVC this year just happened to come outta Athens County, with them being Athens/NY your Ohio Division Champs, Trimble your Hocking Champs and Alexander the only team still playin' ...
With that being said, their was some awesome players all throughout the League...
Mike Johnson (Eastern) with (10) TD's Receiving through 9 Weeks ...
Jacob Well (Meigs), Brendon Torrence (FH) and Brayden Pratt (Eastern) all throwing over (1000) through 9 Weeks...
Jeremy Smith (Meigs) rushing over (1000) and Greg Jenkins (14) rushing TD's ...
...And that was just to name a few...
It was a great season, but a lot of the Good Action and Top Athletes were found on the TVC Teams in Athens County ...
