Re: SEOAL 2010
Jackson has kept the bad schedule for years. They are close enough for games with Wheelersburg & Port. West for competition, but have ducked real competition for an awful long time. Nothing prevents them from playing one game up the road in the big city ( Columbus area). The weak schedule keeps them down. No sense complaining about that.
But it is funny to see comments about how "good" they are. Maybe in the cow pastures, but nowhere else.

Pretty sure he was referring to the area around Jackson(and almost every school in SEO including Logan) as a cow pasture. lol.

Vinton Co, Wellston, and Waverly all travel well to Jackson and it makes for profitable games. It's a shame that their programs have struggled over the last decade (except for Waverly) but until a team hits the field you really don't know what to expect. Everybody talks about Jackson like we are this "big" school but if you look at the number of athletes we have in each sport, we are no bigger than most of the schools around us. How would we have fared against Athens, Alexander, P West, Nelsonville, or Oak Hill last year ? Trask talk aside, we might've went 0-5 as each team had a strong season but had we beat them then everyone would be complaining that we had even scheduled them.
Re: SEOAL 2010
Sometimes if it is a big draw you just might want to stay with things but then it could hurt come the play-offs

Re: SEOAL 2010
As usual, some here have no comprehension of FB. Wasn't talking about playing fields but level of competition. I'm fine with Jackson's schedule. Hope they keep it the same................ just like the continuing underdevelopement of their program. In fact, not counting the wins & losses with their weak schedule, I expect them to continue their drop in competitve level over time. They may beat the teams from the cow pastures but never show improvement otherwise, certainly not out of the area of play. Thats to Logan's advantage and others who play up in competition. Pounding on weak Wellston and claiming a one sided win annually over impotent VC isn't going to improve or challenge them at all. Waverly isn't all that in their league and Jackson plays them as a toss-up game most of the time. And in fact, I don't see Ironton staying on the schedule much longer. And thats good -- weaken the schedule more and have no chance of getting better.

Re: SEOAL 2010
i wasn't asking about the grass around them. i was asking about the area schools around them. surely there is a school the could offer more post- reason preps then VC or Welston. at some point someone has to say no more! we're getting killed everytime we make it to the post season. we need to make a change. even if its 1 team at a time.
Re: SEOAL 2010
How has Logan faired in the Post Season? Perhaps you should try moving up to the St Iggys, and the Colerains of the world.Arnt you disapointed in your results after having perhaps the best run in your schools history, and still do not have a major playoff win in your history? Im just saying

before you & boilermaker try to blast someone in the head with a rock. maybe you should think about what they trying are saying.
most years in SEO FB. teams gets blown off the field in the 1st round. then the fans start witching. oh we need to schedule up, we need to play better teams. we need to play teams that will prep for the post season, then when you take a look at some teams schedule your left scratching your head. can't understand why? i know the whole big gate thing $$$. but, why do you need to play the same teams you been playing for 60 yrs??? in all 3 of your non-league games? i know the scheduling story also. but, if you don't try to schedule/play anyone else........ your never going to see anything else.....

yes and no. would i love to have seen or do i think LOGAN should have made it further every year?? YES. but, at the sametime look at the teams LOGAN has played in those last 10 years. lancaster D1, pickerington & pick north D1, westerville south D1, upper arlington D1, desales then D2, gahanna lincoln D1, etc.. most making the playoffs every year and some have state won state titles the year LOGAN played them. i think we're moving in the right direction to have more sucess in the post season because of it. and in those 10 yrs how many loses and league loses has LOGAN had not counting the playoffs??
85W-14L with only 4 of those being from a league team. the lost 1 come from jackson in 05. i said it before and i say it again. the boys in i-town are right about 1 thing. you won't get better, if you don't play better teams. and i think it shows in LOGAN.

Re: SEOAL 2010
I understand the whole point of "scheduling up". But let's face it, everything in this life boils down to the almighty dollar. I am wondering, how much money is generated for the schools when they are playing in playoff games?

Re: SEOAL 2010
i know when LOGAN has had the home field in the 1st round, the home side is packed! the LOGAN band boosters make a killing at the consession stands. LOGAN holds 6000 on the home side and 2000 on the vistor side at $5 thats $40,000 if both sides are soldout. but the home side will bring around $30,000 in its self. and, yes there is big $$$ in playing the same teams your grandpa played b/c of the years and traditions. but at some point you or somebody is going to want to know how good you ready are. the bad thing is you just can say "ok this year i think we going to be good so lets play desale." desale isn't going to want to waste there time playing someone there going to beat up on. it doesn't offer them anything. thats why you have to venture outside of you area and play teams that are not in SEO. get the schools name out there. so when you have those good teams they'll be more prepared for those state powerhouse teams and playoff teams. b/c they have seen it come playoff time. are they going to win? NO not always. but they will be better for it and so will the classes coming up.

Re: SEOAL 2010
The point of my post has went directly over everyones heads.
Ill print it out nice and neat. Until Logan does something in the playoffs themselves, they should refrain from telling everyone else why they fail in the playoffs

Another inaccurate poster.
What would you call beating Westerville South 53-20 in 2000? That same Westerville South team had a Super Bowl Champion (Lance Moore, Saints), an NCAA record setting quarterback (Rocky Pentello, Otterbein), and another D1 receiver (Steve Odom, Toledo).
What would you call beating Pickerington in the second round of the playoffs in 2000? Remember, that Pickerington team was 11-0 and ranked in the top 3 of division 1 all season after losing in the final four in 1999.
Logan has advanced to the second round of the playoffs the last two seasons in Division II. Most schools in Ohio would be happy to QUALIFY for the playoffs in consecutive years.
