they also lost 12 seniors on about a 20 man football team so some 8th graders and kids who haven't played before need to step up

1.) Tartans - Great Coaching Staff with a bunch of returning talent.

2.) Oaks - Talent Coming Of Age, but not there yet.

3.) Vikings - Solid Coaching Staff, still needing a "game breaker".

4.) Titans - Ton of talent at key positions graduating, alot to overcome.

5.) Bobcats - Way too few and way too young.

ND's numbers should be fine. They lose 12 seniors but will have 8 eighth graders come up. Still have numbers over 30. Did lose a few key atheletes in those seniors but some talent in the frosh and soph. ready to step up. That was seen when some of them were out with injuries during the season.

Sounds like East will be returning some keys players with Hoover as the district offensive POY and Chase Mault the defensive POY as well as Jacob Howard first team as well. This team has a chance to be as good as this years squad. It will be interesting to see if they continue to run the double wing-t though maybe they will open it up a little more but I guess you shouldnt fix something that isnt broken.

I wouldn't say fix what isn't broken for East, I would say they need to tweek a couple things and throw a bit more.

Notre Dame will be picking up three offensive linemen from Lucasville Valley next year. Funny, not so long ago the ND kids were migrating to Valley to play football, now it is the other way around. If the Titans can find them a QB to go along with these linemen, they may very well be in the SOC-I championship game again in 2008.

I think ND's skill players could make a big difference, but I do agree that OH and East are the pre-season favorites.

East: Third straight SOC I Championship! To fast, strong and well coached!

Oak Hill: Could be a good game but, East still to strong and fast and will be out coached!

Symmes Valley: Rusty's boys always play real tuff and he will have them ready! Plus, he may be getting some advice from a SOC II team assistant at this time! Not that he needs anyone's advice!

Notre Dame: Lost some good skilled players in the Williams brothers! Graduation -- the great equalizer! East will experience this next year!

Green: Still hanging in there! Got to love the Green people; they fight hard to keep their team and program alive! Coach Mercer is a champion coach and always teaches his players other things than the game of football! Football is his tool to help and reach kids! Coach... Axe, why do you make the assumption that Oak Hill will be out-coached? give me the explanation on that that assumption? Is Larry Hall God?

Vorhees, Coach Hall was like a supreme being when he was in the SOC II at Wheelersburg! Winning the Championship every year and making the playoffs every year but I think once. Had a very good level of success in Ashland; winning two Regional Championships there! My money would be... when it came to the coaching aspect of the game; he would out coach anybody in the SOC I.

If both teams were equal except for the Head Coaches; Coach Hall would win 9 out of 10 and possibly 10 for 10. Example! In the Oak Hill @ Valley game last year! Oak Hill should have won that game! But, the coach for some odd reason went away from the run when he had them on their heels and jumped away fom the pass when it was being very effective and needed! Now, I know that seems odd hearing the word pass coming from a East fan after all; we passed more in pre-game warm-ups in Week 1 than, we did all season!

At East @ Oak Hill game... They had East completely dominated on the passing game to the Hale kid! He completely had the advantage against our shorter corners; I believe the kid had two long touchdown catches in the game! The coach went away from the pass! Got a highly athletic back and receiver and the leagues best quarterback; a decent line and at one point had the lead! And lost!

Yeah! I say that East will out play, out hustle and out coach the Oak Hill Oaks to a third straight SOC I Championship! And, if you listen right after the game; you will hear the "Victory Bell" ringing in the endzone!

The "Leave No Doubt" tour continues...

The Tartan Army will have a sharpened axe to chop down the Oaks!

Last year against Valley, Oak Hill had two of their top three RBs injured. Hale and Fisher were both banged up, so that could have something to do with shying away from the running game.

You do realize that East went 10-0 last season. I'd say they were quite talented to accomplish that. They didn't simply go 10-0 because of coaching. Oak Hill was somewhat inconsistent last year and they couldn't quite hang with the Tartans for the entire game. I'm sure that Coach Phillips was looking to exploit any advantage that he had over East, but you can't just throw the ball up for grabs every single play.

Oak Hill has one of the best staffs in SE Ohio. I'm sure that East does as well. However, to guarantee that East will out coach Oak Hill 10 out of 10 times is simply a ridiculous statement. The guys down at Oak Hill have also been a part of plenty of success at the varsity football level and I think I'd take my chances with them no matter what.

Does anyone know any dates and times of scrimmages for any of the SOC 1 teams?

Have heard from several sources that Notre Dame is looking amazing in practice! Said this year's team may be the best since the 2000 squad! Wow, that's saying something if it's true. I hope it's true for those young men.

From what I have heard yes, but they also lost kids also in the Williams kids who helped them out last year.

Every team looks good in practice, the question is will they look good in games.
