An early look at the (Wellston Golden Rockets) 2008 Season!

Thanks keyser and boilermaker. I'll probably try to make it to Wellston on Friday to get a look at the Rockets.

How did Wellston's 7-on-7 go today? I wasn't able to make it. Also, how did the Rockets look at Greenfield?

I was not able to attend either 7-7 due to work. I was told by some that were there that Wellston was more than competitive with Amanda CC and Greenfield Mcclain.The Rockets looked good on both sides of the ball 1st and 2nd teams . Wellston pretty much handled Manchester , but Manchester is a first year varsity program. The people I talked with said a totally different look from the Rockets from a year ago . These are just passing scrimmages though so cant wait to get the pads on and get in that first scrimmage to see them.

How is the Prater kid looking so far? Any idea what position he's going to play this year for the Rockets?

Prater is doing fine , he will play Rb,Lb for the Rockets.

Wellston plays Chesapeake August 9th 6pm Home,August 16th @ Zane Trace 6pm.

RU serious i watched the rockets play last year and they were not very good at all. I see no reason to believe they will win more than 3 games due to their schedule and the fact they just arnt that talented. I understand they return a lot of players, however, if there is little talent it doesnt matter. Good luck on your season I hope the Rockets prove me wrong I just dont see it. please do yourself a favor and dont hold your breath for a 7-3 season

Southernstorm all Starters are returning, except 1 on defense.This will be a junior laden team.

Did you watch a single game last year there is no way the team from last year will have 8 wins. This team will not win 3, but i will thank you for answering the question.
The Rockets will probably be 0-4 going into the Belpre game and i dont see them winning until Athens 2-8 with wins against athens and alex and they will be close.
