Would not have to sit out due to it is not a sanctione OHSAA event. Also You are not allowed to charge for scrimages.

Re: Portsmouth @ Valley
Johnson was ejected for throwing a punch. I don't know what the rule on this is, but I doubt he has to sit. He was warned once by the umpire and about 5-6 plays later he punched a Valley LB in the side of the helmet.

As for the Valley D... Brice set out with a stress fracture in his shoulder. It's an injury that will probably bother him most of the year, but not get any worse. The starting LB's were Evans, Schultz, and L. Keller. At the time of the TD run by Ptown, it was L. Keller, T. Rowe (FR), and I'm not sure of the other LB in the game.
Valley is young, but they have some skill. They have 2-3 kids that didn't play that will be big contributors. The O-line was very impressive, giving Utley plenty of time to throw. Valley's WR/skill players(they are deep at WR) looked good and they made some big plays.
I think the key will be the defense. If they play well this team could win 6-7 games... if not, we're looking at 3-4 wins. My guess is somewhere in the middle, 5-5 or 6-4 while building towards next season.

Re: Portsmouth @ Valley
The starting lineman was not at the time of the big draw. You have hope that one of the starters would make that play.

I agree. I'm just saying that there might be a handful of plays this year where depth becomes an issue. I'm excited about the young talent, but with youth comes inexperience. I think there is enough speed that the offense can make some plays, you just have to hope that the line can stay healthy and play well.

I think the way it works in Portsmouth is that if you charge you call it a preview, if you don't charge you call it a scrimmage. I think BiggDowgg made up those rules.

well, you did not say, IT WAS , in Portsmouth, but this sure makes it look as if you was trying to say it, seeing how the Valley/Portsmouth "PREVIEW" is the game we was talking about

Prior had the stictches before Friday night's game, didn't he? I'm almost sure he did... Didn't he play with them Friday night?
As for Johnson, that's too bad but you could see it coming. They gave him a break by not ejecting him the first time. I couldn't believe he did it again after the warning.

Re: Portsmouth @ Valley
The OHSAA does not carry over penalties from scrimmages or previews. However, that does not mean that PHS cannot enforce some kind of suspension.
Re: Portsmouth @ Valley
I was :"Told" he was not ejected by the officials, Clifford sit him the remainder of the day at Valey.
