Minford has had difficulty winning in Wellston. If Minford plays like they did from the mid-1st quarter on last Friday, look for Minford to pick up the victory in this game. Time to go into Wellston and pick-up a W for a change. Good luck Falcons!

How many of you can remember the game in 2000 when the game was delayed several times due to lightining and we didnt finish the game til 12:30-1:00 in the morning..lol Minford lost that game in a heartbreaker, we were on the goal line getting ready to score and turned the ball over on downs. Lets not let that happen again.

Go Red
play hard for all 4 quarters.

Or in 2006 Minford marched down the field into the redzone and fumbled a snap to stop the clock to set up what would be a game winning field goal. Lost by 2 I believe. Now thats a heartbreaker.....

Nope. We didnt play Vinton County in 2000. In 2005 there was a rain delay when Minford played Vinton. I believe that is what your thinking of.

Minford BIG in this one.....

too many ground weapons for Wellston to control.

There is no way to key in on 1-2 players and be able to stop Minford. The Minford team from the 2nd-4th quarter against River Valley will be hard to compete with from any team in southern Ohio.

If they start fast and aggressive, this turns into another practice session and the 2nd and 3rd string gets more chances to letter this year.

Yes and it was a prime example of the need to control your timeouts. Had all the timeouts not been used earlier in the half, this would have made the difference and Minford more than likely would have won as the kicker would nailed the FG. Woulda, coulda, shoulda and it is easy to say all this in hindsight, but the bottom line is yes, that was a heartbreaker.

As long as Minford is firing on all cylinders like they were Friday, Minford should have a lot of success in moving the ball and their defense should be smothering.

Go Minford, we must stay focused on each week. Take care of one week at a time.

Rogue,
Whether or not the timeouts may have been used is a factor.. but center clearly had a bad snap, thats what ultimately caused the loss.

Playing down to, and losing to teams they shouldn't are gone with the days of Bob Ashley.

I'd like to see Wellston win being a TVC fan but I've heard so much about Minford being a real competitive team that made the playoffs last year an I just dont see Wellston winning but prove me wrong.

At that point in the game it certainly was a major factor. There were other snafus that occurred during the game that could have made a difference but you're right, that was critical to the outcome of the game.

Back to this year's game, I expect a solid week of practice for the Falcons and when they hit the field on Friday, the first game jitters will be past them. I would say Wellston has improved considerably from last year but Minford will be prepared and will bring home the victory.

GO FALCONS! Come out strong and do NOT let up.
