Re: Week 2 Player of the Week Nominations
I agree with tiger, jon has an awesome arm, just need to work with the recievers on catchin the ball. Maybe take the gloves off...lol I noticed (he) started catching more when (he) took off the gloves. As for people laughing at comments on jons passing abbilities...they obviously have not seen him through the ball!!

Re: Week 2 Player of the Week Nominations
Cody Huff's performance was simply amazing. The boy played well on both sides of the ball. Anytime someone caries the ball 40 or 50 times you are carrying a huge load. And it's not like it was against a terrible team. Waverly was doing a decent job stopping him, Huff just broke tackle after tackle and working hard for that extra yard. Almost everytime he was tackled it was by 5 or more defensive players all hanging onto him. There were times when he looked to the sidelines knowing he needed a break but stayed in there and played tough. All of this on a injured toe thats been hurting bad for quiet some time I have herd. What I liked was when Jackson was in victory formation taking a knee Cody was in the backfield literally almost falling over with his uniform completely covered in dirt and grass stains. You could tell that boy just gave it all. Thats what I like to see, someone never giving up and giving everything they have.

Great post. I completely agree. Cody Huff absolutely put his team on his back and made sure that they won that game. Jackson's entire team played a great game and Huff's effort would not have been possible without his teammates, but he was outstanding individually. Playing hurt, carrying the ball play after play, and fighting his way to 259 yards and 3 TD's...not to mention a great defensive effort as well. You just couldn't ask for anything more from Cody...he gave absolutely every ounce of effort that he had and didn't let up until the clock hit 0:00.
Re: Week 2 Player of the Week Nominations
Huff's performance was miraculous. Stats aside...on the road, vs a perennial playoff team with a 15 game home winning streak...and he was too whipped to celebrate with his team.
Winner
Winner
Re: Week 2 Player of the Week Nominations
IF votes are for West's defense....then how about Jackson's defense? gave up just 6 points to Waverly's potent offense @ Waverly. Waverly scored 54 last week vs a great Piketon team.
Oh.....and with double digit tackles for the Ironmen.....some kid named Cody Huff.
"With nothing really standing out" ???

I thought Waverly's offense scored 2 TDs against Jackson. I know they had 1 special teams TD. Either way, Jackson played extremely well on defense.

All:
Bottom line is this Huff's performance has to be the best of the week. In all the other games you could probably take the nominee out of the game and his team still wins the game. Berne Union agianst Frontier, southern vs. Wahama, ironton agaisnt the Canuck team.
If Huff does not have that performance Jackson doesn't win.
I am not from Jackson and did not see the other games either. Take the nominee out and Berne Union, Wahama and Ironton still win.
Jackson vs. waverly had to be one of the biggest games in the area last week. In one of the biggest games a man showed up in a boys body appears to have kicked some serious butt.
