Often individuals use this forum in an attempt to motivate their players... and.. often things are posted that are just not true - or not nearly to the extent that the poster makes them out to be... that said, I doubt if anyone who thinks for themselves would ever believe a team of young boys who are 0-2 would be "cocky." These boys (from what I'm hearing) are more concerned with correcting their mistakes than they are spending time talking down about their next opponent or pounding their chest and saying "look at us..." no... it's an unfounded statement. Quality programs know that the key to winning is more about execution rather than attempting some false sense of superiority... and in my opinion, Todd Knipp is developing a quailty program at Rock Hill... and as for "punching someone in the mouth" wouldn't that be considered illegal use of the hands? :)

I don't know who your resources are but at least i live in pedro and you talk to any player on that team and there is not one cocky on there. I think they are to worried as one said about fixing there mistakes then worrying about what other PEOPLE think about them on Public Forums.
Besides i don't even think people from deacatur even go to games or are on the team
GO HILL
ROCK HILL THAT IS

Say...have any of you stepped on the feild with any rock hill players in recent years? Ever? You can say whatever you think is or hear but unless you actually are on the field with them then you dont. An by the cocky remark i simply meant oak hill hasnt been given a chance in recent years due to some very good rock hill football teams, so naturally by human nature they are going to be cocky. I have been on the field with it first hand, so if you wanna live in your little fantasy world where everything about your team is flawless then go ahead...but that aint football never has been, never will be.

Well, seeing as how the Grove will be up at Valley tomorrow, I'll probably be heading out 93 to watch this one go down.

Hey, thanks for the numbers. I really wish RH had all time records and scores posted somewhere so that we can be reminded of where the program has been to where it is now. Just wondering, do you have the year by year results? I would bet the Oaks owned RH in the 80's....

I'm hoping the rains hold off tonight, because these two QB's are going to be fun to watch.

Go HILL

I took some notes until 3:50 remaining in the 2nd Quarter. First of all just let me say that I expected the score to look like this. Rock Hill has talent, but they had two lost fumbles and I think they threw an interception towards the end of the first half. Also, they turned the ball over inside the Oak Hill 10 yard line. Oak Hill was about as good as I expected - nothing too flashy, but their QB is very talented - he had a 1-yard TD run, a 7-yard TD pass and a 37 yard TD pass in which his receiver had the defender beaten by at least 7 yards and actually had time to wait on the ball and then go into the endzone untouched. The only incompletion I saw him throw was dropped by Boggs. He is also very good on defense; he broke up a long pass after making a great break on the ball, and he also recovered the second fumble. Oak Hill got the two passing TDs after Rock Hill fumbles, so Rock Hill really put themselves in a hole early.
Rock Hill's defensive middle was soft and they got pushed around a good bit, using a five-man line for most of what I watched. The Lyons kid made at least a half-dozen tackles and he seemed pretty tough, although too often the ball carrier already had at least 4 or 5 yard by the time Lyons could get to him. Oak Hill lined up for a good bit of the time in a power formation, almost reminded me of a goal line formation, but it was very effective.
As for Rock Hill, this is definitely a rebuilding year. By the time McCollister is a senior, He'll be the best QB in the OVC. He's raw right now, but he shows good poise and most of the incompletions I saw were drops, including the screen pass on 4th down inside OH's 10 yard line which would have at least given them a 1st down if not more. The play which impressed me with him the most was the one on which he looked left, then got under pressure, went right and picked up the long first down + the face mask penalty. Bammer is an almost certain 3 yards every time he gets the ball. He had a couple of fumbles while I was watching, and he lost one of them, but he's a work horse.
I'd like to think that Rock Hill will win a few games this year in the OVC. The talent is there, they just need to cut back on the mistakes. The important thing to remember is that they'll only get better under Knipp and I promise you that after McCollister comes into his own, he'll be a gem.
I had a great time in Redman Country tonight. The facilities are 2nd to none around these parts, and the view from the Home bleachers is excellent.

I would agree with several things Fuzzhead said about the game. This is rebuilding at its best... McCollisters numbers do not nearly reflect his accuracy... he throws a very good ball and is getting better each week at looking defenders off... ANother positive thing was a couple of long third down conversions... Davenport runs very well after the catch and caught some tough balls... great touchdown grab by Justice... and I agree that Bammer continues to show senior leadership with his tough play... Lyons looked good on defense and will only improve... Malone is so athletic and is very close to breaking something big... we have got to get better push on offense and penetration on defense... Hang in there and continue to improve guys... and I agree with the comment about Coach Knipp... he will patiently mold these guys and the best is yet to come!

Wow on a mission, your are a true(for lack of a better word) DOUCHE! I mean seriously man does one of ur relatives play for rock hill? God i hope so, so they could enjoy that beat down. I think rock hill has a very good program, considering their success over the last few years and i have nothing against any team, thats just how football is like it or not. Good job oaks thanks for the enjoyable victory. Oh and on a mission? You have absolutly no room to dog my team for 1 loss, last time i checked yours doesnt even have 1 win!!!! You are truly a discrace to fans everywhere, i mean you attacked my playing years and my family, do the world a favor and take a long walk off of a short cliff.

Congrats to the Oaks on the big win. Seems as though Oak Hill has things running smoothly after a rough start in Week 1. Heard that the offensive line played very well. Enjoy the win tonight and then get ready for Northwest next week!
