What a joke.
If East gained over 3 yards the flags were flying.
One of the Tiger players hit an East player while he was out of the field of play,The line judge grabs his flag, swings his arm up but hangs on to the flag,then he returns it to his back pocket and turns his back to the fans.
This was no upset. This was cheating everyone out of a game. I'd have to say East had -300 yards.
The only good thing about this game was they couldn't stop East from knocking the crap out of them. Man did East hit them hard. They will never forget that.

The last thing I want to say is: John Denver must have been pretty HIGH on drugs when he sung about WV. If that's almost heaven we don't have much to look foward to.

Matewon WVA will forever be a bitter place for East Tartans. I wish I could say 2 good football teams squared off and played a good game, but the best players for Matewon was the ref's. In my 25 years of watching football of all different levels, I have NEVER seen refs so blatantly cheat. People may say you are just saying that because Matewon won the game. But to all the fans from Sciotoville that was at that game, and even coaches from Symmes Valley said after last year playing at Matewon, how the refs screwed them the same way, they would never play there again. I swear, the 1972 Miami Dolphins would have gotten beat there tonight. To our boys, you weren't beaten by a better team, you were beaten by the men in the black and white shirts. To any coaches who may read this and are ever considering playing matewon, know this, all the teams in the surrounding areas down there refuse to play them because of the officiating.
This is the last time I will personally post about it, because nothing more needs to be said by me. But to all you Tartan fans out there, pat our players on the back, because they played against the one thing you can NEVER beat, and they still done us PROUD!!!

One of the refs of this game is president of the Matewon football booster. And I don't know if any of the fans recorded the game, but I know Coach Hall will have made a copy of the game tape for film review. Also, another piece of information, I personally spoke with the Symmes Valley Coaches that were there tonight, and they told me that their game film from last year showed the same type of officiating, and they even sent a copy to Parkersburg WvA, and they will do nothing to the refs at all. Maybe if that is how the whole WvA football system works, Ohio needs to stay away from them. Cause, Matewon might have actually been a good team, but we will never truly know because the game was so jaded by the poor officiating.

Maybe the fans should send them a bill for the ticket prices and gas. They won't pay but maybe it would "P" them off enough to do something.

This game was a complete joke....How about this one, can some PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me how there can be an injury time out with it going to 4th and about 20 and after the injury time out as soon as the teams get back on the field a flag is thrown for a personal foul and an automatic first down for Matewan. There were maybe 3 correct flags thrown during the game One being a face mask, a roughing the kicker, and a personal foul with 2 minutes left in the game. There was another coach and a few players at the game a row in front of me and heard us talking about the refs, they litteraly turned around and said that the crew tonight does every game for Matewan at home and that they got in trouble a year or two ago for doing the exact same thing tonight against teams. Matewan comes to East next year and heaven forebid we our AD finds a way out of going to Matewan....here is an Idea how about for the Friends Of Coal thing they are doing this year make this game part of that so we can get some real refs.
