Good tune up game for the Pirates, not to take anything away from the Redmen, but they are a few years away from actually competing in this game. I think the Burg will try any new plays and or defenses, getting primed up for SOC play. Good Luck and Good Health for both squads.

i hate to see the rh qb hurt. that is what worries me about starting freshman on varsity football. hope this doesn't hurt him in future or get him gun shy. when you have to start freshman on varsity football your team is in trouble. i know there is a few that will do ok but most of the time it isnt worth it. some schools don't even let freshman dress varsity to prevent them from putting them in the game. there is a big difference between 15 yr. old freshman and 18-19 yr. old srs.

I think McCollister will be fine... I understand he's been practicing all week and looks sharp. He's bigger than most Freshman 6'4" and approaching 200 lbs... although he's not there yet. Plus, I guarentee his dad (who is one of the coaches and a tremendous football man) will be watching him closely... that's one reason they didn't take any chances at West and went ahead and iced the knee down... I agree that varsity is a challenge for freshman... but at the same time it has proven as well to give some valuable experience to promising athletes and I believe Will is a promising athlete. At any rate, it was good to sense your concern for the player.
