I'll go with the Burg in this one, but it is just great to see two undefeated teams going at it in week 7.............

Good luck to both teams ;-)

An eariler post about the officals is true. 2 years ago they set the tone for the game in the first 5 plays. Burg fans always say, We get Homered at Ironton every time, well same goes for us at Burg. I would love to see this played at a different field.

Does anyone call holding anymore? I have seen on avg of 3-4 holding calls per game that aren't called. At least they look like holding calls to me. Have they changed the rules lately as to how the offense can use their hands while blocking?

Does it get any better than this? Minford is # 1 in Division 5 Region 19 and Wheelersburg is # 3. There are only 3 undefeated teams in Divison 5 Region 19 and they are all SOC II teams. That says a lot about the caliber of the SOC II. Back to the game, Minford's speed is impressive and this team just continues to improve in all aspects of the game. Both teams have speed but I think Minford has more depth and options. Minford will be ready. Taking the Falcons in a close one. Is it Friday yet?

The last time Minford came into this game, they shut out the Pirates 10-0 (2003).. Let's go Defense, shut them down...

Ive gotta say the same thing that a lot of you have said about minford

The BURG hasn't played anyone yet.......there i said it,,,,,, i don't feel bad about it...

Now let me tell you how i really feel.....each team puts 11 players on the field.....they are the ones who will decide this
My Prediction.....Minford 34 the other group 14

Sorry.couldn't stay in my shell after seeing a lot this nonsense

I cant wait

Here is Minford's chance for ultimate respect from everyone.

They have been second guessed from their early on 3-0....but now at 6-0 and wiping out some good teams....6-0 Minford is obviously verly legit, headed for the playoffs and as good as their fans say.....but beating Burg will be bigger than all that as far as surrounding respect goes.

I still favor Burg by a TD.....but Minford seems to have plenty to win this game.....will they?

Now about 9 more pages of debating between the fans. Enjoy.

Ah, what a game for a friday night. Two good teams, play off atomosphere, huuuuuuge determining factor for a home playoff game and possible playoff matchup. Could not get any better.

Minfords schedule through 6 weeks
8/22 H River Valley (2-4)
8/29 A Wellston (2-4)
9/5 A Huntington (1-5)
9/12 H Dawson-Bryant (3-3)
9/19 H Oak Hill (3-3)
9/26 H Waverly (3-3)
Opponents are 14-22

Wheelersburgs schedule through 6 weeks
8/22 H Ironton (3-3)
8/29 A South Point (3-3)
9/5 H Portsmouth (1-5)
9/12 A Greenup County (KY) (1-3)
9/19 H Rock Hill (0-6)
9/26 A Valley (3-3)
Opponents are 11-23

It doesn't look to me like either team is playing a barn burner schedule so far since not one school on either schedule has a winning record. I do think though that the Pirates played a stronger schedule with Ironton, Portsmouth, and South Point on there though all three aren't having their normal good years.

This game will come down to who can control the line of scrimmage, keep turnovers to a minimum, and be successful at moving the ball. This is a huge rivalry game with big playoff implications since the winner will more than likely take over the region and sail to a home playoff game so I'm sure both squads will play their hearts out and leave it all on the field. Good luck to both and I hope it's an injury free game.

GO BURG!!!!

Thank you PP05 for picking up on what I was saying.

demaniac1 wrote:Faber, have another drink! I didnt say anything about a blowout by Burg, and honestly, I dont know what the he## your talking about. All I know is that Minford people talk about how they get homered at the Burg years past. Thats why I said 14-0 before they even get to the field. 42-7, why dont you go crawl under a fence and act like a dog. Maybe you will get out once in a while, until someone beats you with a newspaper.

Easy there big fella, I'm on your side. i think you totally misread my post. I was more than less agreeing with on the statement you made about the Burg already being up 14-0 and getting that moroanic crap out of the way. I was just following on those lines and saying the same thing. let's keep the stupid stuff out of the post and let the kids settle it on the field.

minfords depth will be the key in this game way to many fresh legs running the ballas well as the O line just going one way...Burgs biggest weakness is lack of depth

Burg-13
