What does it matter if these teams recruit or not??? Here's the thing, last year at the state finals I was listening to one of the radio guys who was talking recruiting going on with private and public schools and the other announcer stopped him in mid sentence and told him recruiting is NEVER going to stop so why don't teams GET BETTER so it won't be such a problem. I agree with that 100%, if people want to cry around and b*tch and moan because of recruiting, try doing something about it and beat them.FANOSPORTS wrote:I too, have been to many, many regional and state final games in Ohio but what "friday nite fan" forgets to tell you "Runnin rebels" is that some of these teams we've seen over the years are also the "best teams money can recruit" in a lot of instances and it's not home grown talent.

I don't really care about "recruiting" because I feel people are entitled to make decisions that are best for themselves. If football is a priority, that is their decision. I mean, no one complains about parents to live in one district and drive an hour to work for a better job than what they'd get in town. Why should students be limited by something like proximity?friday_nite_fan wrote:What does it matter if these teams recruit or not??? But the line, "try doing something about it and beat them" is just as silly. The whole point is that the best players are being "stolen" from communities who are basically helpless to stop it. If you accept that the recruiting is going on, then you have to accept that perhaps these other schools could get better if they weren't having their talent raided (or, if others schools weren't unfairly picking up better athletes from multiple other districts). The reason the non-recruiters aren't winning is because they aren't playing by the same rules.
That is like having the answers to a math test then saying, "if you have a problem with my cheating on the math test, you should just get better at math."

With Trimbles forfeit to Coal Grove they drop to #12 in the region. Does this mean everyone below Trimble will move up one spot? If so SG would be sitting at #9 and could very easily move into the #7 spot if they get a win tonight.

They should leap over river and Newark cath. And should have enought points to jump notre dame (if they lose to Symmes valley) so could even be 6 seed after tonight. If they can win.mercerville monster wrote:With Trimbles forfeit to Coal Grove they drop to #12 in the region. Does this mean everyone below Trimble will move up one spot? That would be a big jump if they passed Notre Dame. Gotta get the win in Waterford tonight though. They should leap over river and Newark cath. And should have enought points to jump notre dame (if they lose to Symmes valley) so could even be 6 seed after tonight. If they can win.

Projectin the winners of this weeks game notre dame will be 8.667 after this weekend with a lose and south gallia will get a big jump up to 10.38 (if fed hock beats eastern) or 10.43 ( if eastern beats fed hock) but with the top 5 teams winning they will move up an south gallia will fall into 6

But this is all based on a Win tonight. A big L will mean we can break out the ball racks and turn on the lights to the gym.

True. I'm sure Don is fine with either one .Runnin rebels wrote:But this is all based on a Win tonight. A big L will mean we can break out the ball racks and turn on the lights to the gym.

No turnovers and very few penalties so I guess you were wrong.Ol' Blue wrote:IF the weather stays like it is today...and it's supposed to... SG will commit enough turnovers and "cheap" penalties for Waterford to score 28!!! I've watched every SG game this season...either in person or on film...they are one of the most undisciplined teams with penalties that I've ever seen!!! It's usually the same kids every week!!!
