I have a good friend who played for them and he also told me of this as did my good friend ironmike, from Ironton.

What year was this game, I went through the 70's, 80's. 90's, and 00's on Irontonfootball.com and couldn't find where we played them. Do they have another name or is it just Beechwood, Ky.

1. Coldwater vs. Maria Stein Marion Local--The two best of the MAC right now.

2. Piqua vs. Troy--Oldest rivalry in Ohio

3. Massillon vs. Canton mckinley---Backyard brawl would be great to see.

4. Colerain vs. Xavier vs. Elder---any two of these three playing wold be a great tilt.

5. Desales vs. Youngstown Mooney

Ohio has such great high school football, it is a shame that some games are not on Saturday night. it would be great to be able to go to all of your local teams games, and still take in some games like the ones mentioned on this thread.

NewarkCatholic fan: I attended the Licking Valleyvs. Newark Catholic game at Valley in either 1988 or 1989. I was attending college and I drove down to this game. i believe Valley won by 7 points, but it was one of the greatest high school football games I ever witnessed.

2. Oak Hill vs. Gallia Academy
3. River Valley vs. Gallia Academy (This series needs to start back up.)
4. Meigs vs. Gallia Academy (Again, series needs re-started)
5. Jackson vs. Meigs.

The Green Wave at one time dominated Valley, but here for a while it's been all Panthers.

I would almost be willing to fly 3800 miles to watch West whoop Ironton. Then stay a week to listen to all the sweet crying and gnashing of teeth.

In descending order of interest to me:
1. Watterson / De Sales - - its ALWAYS a grudge match
2. Olentangy / Big Walnut - - two teams that pretty much hate each other
3. Ironton / Portsmouth
4. St. Iggy / St. Eds
5. Massilon / Canton

Piqua vs. Troy--Have always heard about this game from my uncle

Massillon vs. Canton McKinley---Have been told this is one high school game you have to see before you die

Colerain vs. Xavier vs. Elder---Some of the best high school football in the nation is played in the Greater Cin. area.

DeSales vs. Youngstown Mooney

Miami Trace vs. Washington C.H.-just as a reminder of my youth before I am too old to watch it!

Interesting fact about Massilon vs. McKinley is that it is the only High School sporting event in the country with a betting line in Las Vegas. That tells you how big that game is.
