Jackson looked very good last week(I watched the replay on TIME WARNER LOCAL 99).
I think they will do it again this week,41-15.

Last week was a very emotional game for the Ironmen. Now that it's over, they need to get back up for Waverly. If they can stay focused and continue to improve, I like their chances.
That said, Waverly will certainly be ready to play. They always bring their "A" game against Jackson, and this year will be no different. Should be a lot of fun tomorrow night at Alumni Stadium.
Go Ironmen!!!

You are correct. 2009 vs Northwest, they won 41-2.jungle cat wrote:The Tiger are no more; Jackson will totally dominate this game. I really don’t think Waverly can win a game this year either. As Eye Lander states the losing streak continues for the Tigers. Hey does anyone know when Waverly won last? Maybe Northwest in 2009?
They are 4-17 in their last 21 games. And I believe they had Roback in 2009, cant remember if he missed part of that season to injuries or not. He was a heck of a football player and they still went 4-6.
It is going to be a slow rebuilding process in Waverly with low numbers each year coming out for football.

waverly is a 60 man team this year with plenty of depth they just had two many mistakes last week they will def b ready tomorrow

Re: Week 2: Waverly (0-1) @ Jackson (1-0)
6 turnovers (1 fumble lost at the goal line as time ran out in the first half), penalties and more penalties, at least 2 TD passes dropped - and the Tigers still only lose 21-14. I know it's if this and if that and game one is history and we lost, but NO WAY should Waverly have lost to Piketon. With the Tigers schedule they needed that win - going to be a tough road. What will define this Tiger squad is how they respond to a devestating loss to the Redstreaks and that starts tonight against a very good Jackson squad.

SMuuray, I completly agree with you, the Tigers should have won that game. I hope they get at least a couple of victories this year, but I have to ask, If you cant beat that Piketon team, who on your schedule can you beat. Maybe Northwest, Maybe Vinton County. I just cant imagine anyone else on the schedule is as bad as piketon was. We will see.

GOINDIANS,
Not knocking Piketon at all but with the exception of Vinton County & Northwest, EVERYONE on the Tiger's schedule is probably better. Having said that, if Waverly can pull it together and play to their ability they may still be able to pick up some wins. I was hoping Corcoran would be back sooner than later but his quick return is not looking good. He was not available for the Piketon game just as Hensley was not. Not sure when either will be back.
Win or lose tonight the Tigers must IMPROVE.

Some stats to throw out...
Jackson 1st Team Defense allowed -3 yards tonight. Waverly ended up with 38 total yards, according to the post-game report.
Drew Ervin had 16 carries for 166 yards and 4 TDs in two and a half quarters of play.
Morgan Landrum had 10 carries for 86 yards and a TD.
Austin Osborne had 9 carries for 74 yards, plus an electrifying 82 yard punt return for a TD.
The Jackson defense has given up less than 100 total yards through the first two weeks of the season and has pitched two shutouts. Can't get much better than that. Obviously Jackson's skill players were impressive tonight, and that was partly due to improved play from the offensive line. They still have to keep working hard and get better each week, but they're certainly moving in the right direction. Great special teams play as well, as Luke Eisnaugle remains a perfect 12-for-12 this season. The Ironmen should be proud of their effort through the first couple weeks.
Good luck to Waverly the rest of the season.
