This is one of those games where the teams are so evenly match you won't get by making mistakes. Whoever limits theirs the most will win the game. Coming off the key win at Alexander and the game being at home... I'll side with Wellston 26-23.

zipper1, here are the like opponents and results to this point:

Wellston
9/2 A Minford (4-3) [4:15] W 13-7
9/23 H Fairland (3-4) [4:15] W 33-15
9/30 A Nelsonville-York (7-0) [5:19] L 0-48

Meigs
9/2 A Fairland (3-4) [4:15] W 27-20
9/16 H Minford (4-3) [4:15] W 35-7
10/7 H Nelsonville-York (7-0) [5:19] L 14-41

Again, just like opponents and you can't tell to much from it but it does give you something partially relevant to look at between the two teams. The one think I will say about this is that Wellston went on the road for two of the three while Meigs was at home for two of the three. And the one road game they played was an early season game that was close vs. Fairland - who Wellston throttled at home.

33-15 is not a "throttling". lol

Meigs beat Minford very soundly, while Wellston only won by 6 points over the Falcons.

This is anyones ballgame. Turnovers and capitalizing on the other teams mistakes will be the key to this one.

Sure, if you just go by the score and not how the game played out. Wellston had over 500 yards of offense (300 rushing, 200 passing). And Fairland's two scores: one was a busted coverage by Wellston on 3rd and 25 before half for a 35 yard TD pass, and the other was a garbage time TD prior to the game ended. From following the game and how it played out I do think it's a throttling, I know when Wellston gets beat like that I call it the same thing. But that's just my interpretation. LOL.

As for Minford thing. I totally agree. I just chose Fairland because, as I said, above it's the only away game for Meigs out of the like opponents (and home game for Wellston for that matter). In fact Fairland is the only road win for Meigs and Wellston is 2-1 at home (loss to Gallia Acad. by two). Now as I said above, I think whoever minimizes their mistakes wins because they are closely matched. I expect this to be a vintage Meigs/Wellston meeting where it's physical from whistle to whistle.

Both of these teams are pretty evenly matched with Wellston getting the edge with better athletes and more speed and Meigs getting the edge with better line. This will probably be a low scoring game due to the weather and field condition, but I just cant see Meigs doing much offensively against Wellston's defense. If Wellston can keep their offense going like they did last friday then it will be no question that Wellston gets the W tonight. 20 - 7 wellston

Wow that is terrible. Good luck to him on a recovery. Seems like a very good, bright young man. I am sure he will rebound one way or another.
