Just for fun, I went on Calpreps.com and did projected matchups for NY vs. the SEOAL this year - and included the old 10 team SEOAL - and the projections are that NY would win all 10 games this year -
http://calpreps.com/projections/Nelsonv ... m#Ada_(OH)
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 35, Athens (The Plains, OH) 21
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 46, Chillicothe (OH) 12
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 31, Gallia Academy (Gallipolis, OH) 6
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 28, Ironton (OH) 17
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 34, Jackson (OH) 28
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 42, Logan (OH) 14 [actual score from the game played this year was NY 42, Logan 6]
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 49, Marietta (OH) 6
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 48, Portsmouth (OH) 12
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 40, Warren (Vincent, OH) 14
Nelsonville-York (Nelsonville, OH) 31, Zanesville (OH) 26
Nelsonville vs. Jackson
Re: Nelsonville vs. Jackson
The games we've already played are pretty accurate too. Very interesting site you've got there '96.

Re: Nelsonville vs. Jackson
Gallia athletic directer said Ironton was dropped because Gallia was not competitive enough in the series with Ironton.
That is why the picked up Fairland to play instead.
As for why Jackson did I don't know don't care.
Ironton left the SEOAL for their reason's wish they could have stayed but never moot point to rehash.
Ironton plays Jackson tomorrow and we will see who the better of the teams are there.
Gallia seemed to be moving in the right direction with their program and Jackson does to hope the best for both of those programs and as far as the SEOAL it may be in it's last days Portsmouth is trying to get in the OVC and another program said Gallia is to for what it's worth.[/quote]
What did you want the Gallia athletic director to say? No one in southeastern Ohio is even remotely close in the all-time series with Ironton with the exception of Portsmouth. Trust me, Gallia not being competitive enough is not the reason this series is ending. It seems a bit coincidental that SEOAL members Gallia, Jackson, and Chillicothe will all no longer be on Ironton's future schedule, but you are entitled to believe what you want.
For what it's worth, If Logan and Chillicothe leave for the MSL, and Portsmouth goes to the OVC I would prefer to see Gallia, Jackson, and Warren in the TVC as opposed to Gallia in the OVC. Gallia and Jackson should always be in the same league whatever or wherever it may be. I'm not the AD though, and Gallia will do what they feel is best.

I agree. I'm all about the tough non-league schedule. It does wonders for a team!!!
Re: Nelsonville vs. Jackson
You play bad teams year in and year out and finally play a good team 9 out of 10 times you get beat. You play a tough non conference schedule you get better simple as that. Ironton doesnt schedule teams like fairland river valley, vinton county ect. no disrepsect and look where theyre at. Theyve lost 2 games this season and some of their fans think the tigers are awful this year. They lost to teams no one else around here would dream of playing. I would love for Nelsonville to drop BU and Trimble. Trimbles program is goin down gradually and we need someone tougher.

I agree. I have always admired how well Ironton has played over the years and the level of competition they have played. I would love to see NY-Ironton back on the schedule again. Even if they played 10 times and Ironton won 8-9 times over that span, NY would only be stronger heading into league play having played Ironton. I don't know what will happen in the future with the Trimble game. It is a decent gate and for Trimble, NY is the big game on their schedule every year. I don't think Trimble would ever drop NY. I agree that their program is in a steady decline, mostly due to the fact that Trimble keeps shrinking in size. If you look at their elementary school enrollment numbers, Trimble is going to be really small really fast in the near future. However, Trimble does provide alot of secondary points for NY. As long as Trimble is able to maintain those secondary points, I don't see why NY can't continue to play Trimble. However, if Trimble were to decline to what we are seeing from Belpre right now, I would hope NY would drop Trimble. They aren't at that point yet though.
