I look for a good game for a half, then the big backs for West will take over and control the game. The defense West played in the second half against Fairland was steller. Fairland has some really good athletes and they really picked on that young secondary the first half. But the coaching staff made some excellent adjustments and really shut them down (-4 yards the second half). The key for West will be getting pressure on Meyers. If they do that they will win running away. If they don't, it could be a long night.

The West offense really struggled at sustaining a drive in the first half last night. The second half they really picked it up and opened some holes. From watching Ptown last week, they aren't very big up front. Without alot of size up front like Fairland was able to use, West will run for big yardage against them. If that happens we'll control the ball, the clock, and wear Portsmouth down in the second half.

Fairland is a much better football team than they've been in the past...they deserve alot of credit... I'll take West vs. Portsmouth.. but in a close one... and in an absolutely awsome stadium to play the game in.. portsmouth did it right when building this facility.. 8) 8) 8)

Yes, it's a very nice Stadium indeed!! I was just a little disapointed in the seating, it had a section in the daily time yesterday that said that it would only seat around 4500 people.....? Why would you do that to a Stadium of that caliber? The only flaw I see in it. This game will double that easy, not to mention if they put in for a playoff game??

I think it's more than that. They also said we've never played a home game outside of Spartan Stadium. We had a regular team by 1906 and were playing sporadic schedules before that, Spartan was built in 1929.

Fairland beat Meigs tonight in a shootout. Meigs went toe-to-toe with Coal Grove the week before. That Fairland game doesn't look near as bad does it? Especially to those critical Minford fans. How did that blow out of Wellston go. :122245

South Point looked really bad tonight. If Portsmouth had that much trouble with them then that makes you wonder. SP is not athletic at all.

That's 4500 on the home side and another 1500 on the visitors side. There is also a levy in the endzone for standing room. Word is they have already sold 8000 tickets for tonights game. WOW that's exciting for both teams. GO TROJANS it's your time to shine.

You need to remember we had a score called back and another drive end at the 1 yard line. This could have easily been a 40-14 game with 2 plays. But I like everyone under estimating the Trojans in tonights game. GO TROJANS

Just making a point. It was also very close for a long time. I'm sure Portsmouth tried to hold as much back as possible as I know West did. We'll see how it plays out. Can't wait for tonight. It's a great day for our town.

It really is a great day for our whole area. I have a ticket, but wow, so do 7,999 others? I hope to have a seat, but am not counting on it. I know one thing for sure, don't think that leaving a blanket on the bleachers will cut it. My guess is you will find your blanket behind the bleachers.
